Poltergeists, I'll wager. Our cable company digitized, and the DTA boxes used with older sets not capable of digital reception are really cranky, and do odd things.
Well said, in rhyming quatrains...

It's an old TV. I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation. The ghost theory was just so much more fun. Thanks for the stars.

Interesting subject matter. The rhymes are fine, and the thoughts you had about the situation are well expressed. But the rhythm sort of comes and goes. But a good work anyway.

Oh, this is an absolute delight - I wasn't expecting the last two lines at all. LOL. But your notes - wow, really? I think I'd be extremely unnerved under those conditions. Do you really think you have a ghost? Wow.

Yes really, but there's probably a reasonable explanation. Maybe the TV is wonky. It's old. It was a little weird, but great inspiration for the poem. Glad you enjoyed it.

Well, that would be one, and far less nerve-wracking. :)

Great job with this poem, Cindy. I enjoyed reading it. Held my attention all the way through. Good story premise within your poem. Nice rhyming and flow. Marilyn

Thanks. Of course it's probably just a glitch in the electronics, but it was fun. Glad you enjoyed.

I saw in one of your replies that you felt a cat that had passed jump on your bed. That has happened to me, and also to visitors. We can't all be crazy.

I loved your poem. I advice would be to tell the ghost to pick something you both like. LOL.

Thanks. Yes, that really happened with the cat. He was welcome to stick around if he wanted to. I don't know that it isn't just a glitch in the TV, but it provided great inspiration for this poem.

Thanks for sharing the unusual circumstance that inspired this poem. I enjoyed your lighthearted verse and its rhymed quatrains. I'd say let the ghost be, since he isn't really causing any harm. We have a ghost in our place too, but he just moves throw rugs (we think it's actually caused by some sort of vibration)! Smiles- Joan

I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation, but the ghost story was much more fun. And you never know... Thanks for the great review and the stars.

Spirits love to cause mischief. I enjoyed your poem and could appreciate your fears for what is going on? On occasion I have walked into a solid pet, not there in life, there in death. And, there is no death really. Well done poet.

Nothing bad has happened. Maybe I just have a wonky TV. Tho a few years ago when a cat died I'm sure I could feel him jumping up onto the bed at night. You never know. Thanks for the review and the stars.

Oh, yes, when my cat went to heaven; I too felt her weight on the bed. I also found a large whisker in my Bible. I believe in all things living the afterlife. Cheers, Kay.

That's a little scary and you found a humorous way to talk about it. I think you did a great job on this little poem. I hope you charge him enough rent to get a new tv.

Haha, I think a new TV is what I need. The one I have is a little wonky. Thanks for the review and the stars.

The same thing has happened to me before as well, Cindy, and on more than one occasion.
Something is wreaking havoc with the infrared signal that goes from our remote control to out TV when that happens.
Who can say for certain just what it might be?

Late last night I was on the phone with a friend. It was dark and quiet, and the only two in my house were me and my Chihuahua, Gidget who was curled up in my lap. The television was off.
I heard snoring (or very heavy labored breathing) coming from the bedroom adjacent to the office here where I do all of my writing.
I told my friend about it then went to check it out (yes, I'm one of those idiots you scream and holler at in horror movies, "N-o-o-o-o-o-o... don't go in there!"), but found nothing.

I say if he's not causing you any worries you should give him at least a ghost of a chance at staying there undisturbed.

Great poem, and thanks for sharing.
~Dean :)

As long as nothing bad happens I'm not going to worry about it. I'd feel pretty silly calling someone only to find I have a wonky TV. Glad you liked the poem. Thanks for sharing your story. If all he's doing is taking a nap I'd just let him sleep.

    Hahaha, yeah, I agree, Cindy.
I wouldn't worry about it if I were you either.
    Take care,
    ~Dean :}

There is great rhyme and metering in your poem. It is easy to read and understand. It has a nice twist at the end with good use of humor.
