This sijo poem, Zanzibar Morning, uses three lines and forty-four syllables as you take us back, through the power of suggestion, via a worn and often viewed photograph, to a moment in time that establishes all the moments that followed. Nice.

I keep them in a leather journal
with a silver rose on top..I still have petals from twenty roses from my husband thirty two years ago...very nice poem...
