I like your poem because it shows the joy of rain. Rain is needed and native peoples know this. In few words, you say much. Excellent 3-5-3 form that portrays an image of nature.

A simple observation of a most important event well composed into this little 3-5-3 gem. Though we have enjoyed our unseasonably warm temps, I'm sure this dance would occur in several places. Nicely done.

Hi there, very well written 3-5-3 where the photo vividly accompanies the words. Yeah the natives would dance to the 'rain goods.' I liked it a lot. Good luck in the contest. All the best. Ulla:))

I like this simple yet profound message. Water is so important in the villages. Sometimes they will plant corn, alot of work by hand and alot of money for seeds, then there is no rain that season, everything is lost.
Sometimes a village will have a well dug so the women do not have to travel long distance for house water. Still today, without wells they carry buckets long distances....every day. I was involved with a water project in Zanzibar to bring cave water into the village and stored in a huge water tank made from plastic bottles filled with sand. The day they turned on the water for the first time. I truly realized what joy this was for the women. Good luck in the contest, cheers, j

This speaks to me, while we are having droughts and massive flash flood in Johannesburg at this time. We have lost 'natives' ability to make rain while the clouds gather. Excellent write

Firstly I love the picture. I just 3 lines you have expressed the emotion in this tribe to see rain. water would be their life blood in these African villages where drought and famine can be so predominant.

Poet,

Your 3-5-3 water entry conveys its message
well even without your artwork. That is a
challenge, which you have successfully
accomplished here.

It has a haiku-like satori. You've chosen
your words carefully to match that scant
syllable count. Excellent job!

Linda
