Fantastic photo of native people celebrating rain. Are they in California?....
The Chumash rain danced before I left. They were hired by Tri-City Water Coalition...
Interesting little poem...

Hi, mystery author,
You did a great job with your 3-5-3 water contest entry. Your syllables are correct. The lines flow nicely. The blackground almost makes it a bit scary--the natives look like they are going to war. But they are hoping for rain.
Good job & best wishes in the contest. Jan

There are so many ways of poetry writing. The one you share is interesting and I am trying to understand how it works. Do the natives dance for the rain to stop or in thankfulness that came? Well done. Ella

They need rain bad in some parts around the world. They would do more than dance if they were to see rain, especially with all the fires. The rain would help so much with those as well. Great job

Is it safe to assume the natives are dancing out of gratitude for the rain? They don't look very happy, but they do look wet. This is a perfect response to the water prompt, and nicely presented. I hope it does well. This, in my opinion, is very challenging to do. But short poems are always difficult for me. Good luck in the contest. MM

I find a lot of hiaku-type poetry on FS. Most of it is good, some of it isn't particularly good, and just occasionally, one comes up that is excellent. This one is in the third category. The image is breathtaking, you've presented it well, with the aqua typeface on a black background, and the five words tell a story so much larger than 11 syllables could be expected to contain.
Beautifully executed. I wish you well in the contest.

I wonder if they also danced BEFORE the rain to get it to appear? *smile* This is an interesting poem. It seems to follow the requirements of the contest and all syllable counts are correct. Good luck!

This little poem reminds us that many things we take for granted have far greater meaning for others. A simple thing like rain can mean the difference between life and death for some people.
Wonderful image to accompany this fine posting.
Good luck in the contest.

Nice meshing of words and artwork. Rains can cause some to dance and others to cry depending on the situation.
Hope you do well in the contest.

Great work! This poem really shows how amazing water is, how much growth and life it brings, especially to people in developing places. Excellent job and best of luck regarding the contest!
