Love the description of rain tapping in "soft drum beats." I do enjoy the sound of a gentle rain. The fact that it's on Sunday makes me think of a day when you had time to listen to it. Very nice.

one of my favorite things to hear is the sounds of rain on a roof...it plays a beautiful calming tune.....and is so peaceful to sleep to...very well written...

This is what I call a "snapshot" poem because it captures a moment in time.
I really like the focus on AUDIO imagery. We hear the rain drops on that shingle roof because of the monosyllabic words you strung together in the last line. Very nice!

I was thinking an October soft rain, overcast and chilly. Coffee, pancakes, newspaper in bed, The muted rain on the shingles is so relaxing to me, zzzz. Thanks for the review, cheers j
