This truly is worthy of six stars. I've not read a better Christmas poem this year and I doubt I will.
This tells the story beautifully. The rhyme is sensational.
Hope your Christmas is as good as your poem

Thank you very much, Bob. I am truly appreciative of your generous review, thanks to readers like you, this is the sixth poem of mine that has achieved "all time best" I am inspired by my growing connection to The Holy Spirit, which helps me with the words. I am so thankful that I have a platform such as this to share, I will lead others to righteousness, through Him, lest I boast. Thanks, I really appreciate you taking the time to read and review. Let us continue in fellowship this Holiday season, and throughout the wonderfully bright New Year ~ Darren

Bless you for this Christmas meditation. I like the neat regular rhymes and meter. I appreciate all the Biblical truths in the stanzas that follow the descriptions of Christmas now and then. I wonder about the title as I don't see a reference to the star in the poem itself although I know its importance in the story. I appreciate the reminder to be humble and to put my "worries on a shelf." God's in control.

Please refer to the third stanza, you might have overlooked:

    The cattle softly lowing
    a new Star shining bright
    Its heavenly light showing:
    mankind's new found delight

I am very thankful for your review and comments, hopefully this clears up the confusion? Please message me back to let me know what you think . . . . Darren

Thanks for pointing that out. I'm sorry I missed it. I like it! That is a key transition in the poem. It starts like in Away in the Manger but then the Star is the one that illuminates the arrival of the Christ.

Merry salute to season that is known for its joy and thanksgiving, I loved the fast meter and the rhyme that seemed too enjoy the company of the lines that sang with "Merry Christmas" in mind.

Very very nice. This is beautiful, and what a better time than now to reiterate this reminder. The rhyme is great and meter well done. Thanks for sharing.

An excellent Christmas poem. I liked the way your third stanza (Angelic voices, caroling...) leads from the present into the past. While I enjoyed the whole poem, I thought the third and fourth stanzas were the best as far as rhyme, flow, and metre.

One question: In the second line (and the Christmas' past), I'm wondering why the apostrophe is there. If "Christmas" is meant to be plural, it should be "Christmases." Looks awkward, I know, but it is right.

This beautiful poem meant more to me than I can tell you. Just knowing it came from your heart is reason enough to love it, but the way it is written shows a gift for song... the meter and rhymes are excellent and the message is truly one of beauty. I love it. I'm so glad you're here! MM

I can not express my true appreciation with words, except to say that we have always been connected in a mysterious way, now it is just more literally visible.

A well crafted poem for this Christmas season. You've brought in both the past times and current to make a very enjoyable and heartfelt read. The rhyming is good and the words run smoothly. Many thoughts and sayings you've expressed ring so true. The sketch you've chosen is perfect for your work. Thanks, Carol

This is certainly the time to remember what was done for us and the sacrifice that was made. Every year my New Years Resolution is to be a better person. Someone someone can look up too. Great job with this.
