Hi Luna,

This is the most absolutely ridiculous piece of poetry I ever experienced reading from you. Ever. I wonder when you carried Mickey foicker nine months if the 'fat and grumpy troll' reference was about the pregnancy. Woo-hoo. Couldn't the troll just hop on your son Mickey's back (as your guardian angel) & ask for a ride back to Mother Moon on Mickey's 'angel wings' or would this 'fat & grumpy troll need to hitchhike for the exercise? ;)

Ever grateful,
Shane

    Hey Shane,

RIDICULOUS??? I resemble that remark, and no, the troll is just the creature I decided to use in this mess. No one, not even my benevolent son Mickey, would ever grant him passage within a MILLION miles of us! He's just too fat and grumpy! I suspect, however, that we'll run into him again...

It was indeed ridiculous wasn't it my friend? I'm so glad you honed in on that fact.

    Love,

    Jeni

Hello Luna:
This is such a fun image and rhyme. I hope you don't mind - but here's thoughts that came to me as I read your poem.

No matter what dear tune they play
He does not dance or even sway
Perhaps this fat and grumpy troll
Seeks no solace for his morbid soul

It's fun to play with lines.

thanks so much.
Bill

I love this well written little poem. It's straight to the point and I love the play on words. The picture is perfect. You need to put your next one in a contest. I wish I had a six for you.

Have a great day and God bless.

An exceptionally done triolette with the repeating verses making the piece stronger as it is read.
A fun piece and I can see the fat grumpy troll sitting in the picture.lol

Three Million Miles from Mother Moon Is a poem written by a mother grieving unspeakable loss. Everything we say and write is affected by pain and loss. 3 million miles from mother moon is a drop in the bucket compared to the distance it feels like between mother and son. The activity on that moon is irrelevant commensurate to the activity that takes place on this earth. When you are enduring insurmountable pain. Thank you for sharing. Happy Thanksgiving. May God bless you!

This is quite an unusual form, but liked it. Almost like a limerick with humor attached, the rhythm sound.
Almost felt like I would have liked to hear a couple of verses more.
Well done.
Have a great day.
Best wishes.

I would have loved to put forth another couple of verses if the form had allowed. I have a feeling, however, that we'll revisit the troll in times to come.

    You have a lovely day.

I appreciate your continued attention to my portfolio, and thanks again!

I just wrote this with a nonsensical belt. Three million miles from Mother Moon lived the troll and all the rest. I hope that explains it?

Thanks so much for your gracious review.

I appreciate your continued attention to my portfolio, and thanks again!

This is a fine, fun triolet poem
with good rhymes and repeat lines to the form.
I guess Mother Moon is an apt name to use for a poet named Luna.
Seems the troll has a leisurely life:
fat, grumpy and sleeps to noon.
Good use of alliteration
Interesting choice of art work
Nicely done
