To hell with tradition, Sandra, a dove couldn't fly through that squall...
I always love your poetry, it's so visual. I thought the seagulls were a nice touch. Kind of like hope in a turbulent time.
Excellent job penning the picture into reality.
Jimmy

A fine sonnet with the premise of Stanza 1 developed in Stanza 2 and neatly turned in Stanza 3 with the arrival of the messengers of hope and salvation. The couplet, drawing a wider conclusion, gives a rich context to the metaphor of the storm.

Hi Sandra. Exactly as I saw it, too, for this write. If we stick it out, we will find land. Good rhyming and flow in your poem. The picture for
this post is beautiful, despite its stormy sea. Marilyn

Brava, Sandra! I love your poem. The imagery. the perfect, unforced rhymes, the well-told story, and the use of the sea as metaphor.
It's impressive, too, that it was written in response to the Picture This challenge!

Dear Sandra,

Excellent rhyming in this faith poem. For if the seamen believe in the Lord than he will calm the angry seas. Well written.

Warm regards,

Winslow

Excellent exposition and expansion in the first two stanzas
through vivid imagery and making powerful use of sound

The peripeteia (turn) was nicely accomplished without the
"giveaway" But or Still, employing redirection to a, literal,
different view instead.

And the concluding couplet - like the sea itself becoming
calm - was a charming bit of harmonizing.

:-) Nicely done Sandra :-)

Thank you so much, my friend. I loved this picture, you did well putting in on. I haven't changed my story yet, I am going over it on my MS Word, and taking advantage of your suggestions and looking to see where else I can get rid of the speech tags, then I will replace the one on here with it. Thank you, you are such a lovely person, and a wonderful friend. :) Sandra xxx

=Ahhh, thank you. I enjoy passing on what I've learned.
=Every once in a while, though, I run across someone who is offended.
=So many pass judgement and give low scores, but I see no purpose in being like that. They should just pass it up instead of hurting someone's feelings.
=Goodness, I'm still trying to wake up. Just past 7:00 a.m. at my end of the world.
    =You're probably mid afternoon. (*<*)
    Cheers ...

Yes, it is, I've not long come back from the gym, I have to go to keep the strength in my joints, they are all riddled with arthritis, and they have given me some exercises to help them. It's just gone three pm, here. I can't understand anyone taking offence at someone trying to help. I look out for your reviews because you DO review. I can't thank you enough. Biggest hugs, my friend. xxx

Love this, Sandy. I was thinking about the fellows awaking Jesus to calm the sea. A great story of faith. My blessings to you in the contest. Hope you win.
