It's always a joy to hear about your dear grandson Greyson Teri, the poem is excellent as an entry in this blank verse poetry contest, the narrative is great as usual, and full of joy. Hi, Teri, thanks for sharing:) Thanksgiving is indeed a happy time, and I can't believe it's next week already!
You convey the excitement of Thanksgiving well--the talk, laughter, children running around.
This is called blank verse here, but I'm not sure it is. Bank verse is, to my knowledge, in iambic pentameter (five beats to a line, with alternating stressed and unstressed syllables).
I think possibly you mean "free verse," without specific rhyme or meter requirements? I used to confuse the two.
One bit of SPAG--
"Dessert," two "s's," comes after a meal.
"Desert," one "s," is the place with little water.
An easy way to remember this is "Dessert is full of calories and "s's.'"
