The stories about your family are always so entertaining the way you tell them. Sounds like you are starting to like Jeff a bit. Too bad about his driving though and not letting Frank take the wheel. A bit of a driving hog. But I guess it gives him control. With your daughter making most of the money, maybe he needs the little things like this to control.

Excellent use of dialog and description. A good mix of both.

Thanks, debi, for taking the time to review this. I am starting to like Jeff. Profound thought on taking control. Hubby hates anyone's driving but his own!

Great continuation of the story. I figured this was going to be the altercation with Jeff, oh well. Lol, I'm glad it worked out for you. My guess is Chris is on the left and Jeff on the right?

Take care,
Russell

Right about the picture. The last chapter reveals why and how Jeff has changed. Thanks so much for the six.

Handsome dude on the left is Chris! :-)
Glad things are going smoothly on this trip. It seems Jeff has matured a little...maybe?

My son is a looker, so you're right about that. Jeff is changing at least for our visit.

The handsome one on the left has to be Chris, and the one in gawdy plaid shorts must be Jeff. I was surprised by Frank's comment. He didn't say anything about Nichole before that? One paragraph to look at...

Two hours later(,) we were back on the road (with?) Nichole searching her Ipad for points of interest. Nothing. Watching oranges grow was no one's idea of excitement. "We'll get a pizza and go back to the hotel.(,)" Nichole announced.

Smiles,
Karyn :-)

God forbid Chris would wear those shorts. His kids and wife would laugh him out of the house.
Thanks for pointing out my spags. All corrected now. :-)

Another interesting chapter in the life of your family. You asked us to guess about the picture, I say Chris is on the left and Jeff on the right. Blessings, Patricia

Haaaaaaa, great stuff, Shari. I really enjoyed this trip. It sounds like everyone had a good time and as usual written with your great humour that always cracks me up.

Oh man, waiting for the next chapter. :))

Gloria

PS: My guess is Chris is the one of the left. Am I right?

You're right about the picture. My son would never dress like Jeff. LOL
Thanks for the valued review and for the exceptional rating. Sweet dreams for me tonight. :-)

That went better than I thought it would. Well, other than the whole golf cart driving incident. And Frank's out-of-the-blue comment about liking Jeff better than Nichole.
Your humor is evident throughout, starting with 'lean cuisine and bulky beef' to 'that took up to twenty minutes'.
I'm pretty sure your son is on the left and your son-in-law is hamming it up on the right.

You're right about the picture although Chris can ham it up too. But his wife would never let him wear those plaid shorts! LOL
Appreciate the comments on my humor.

Well, it sounds like you had a good time with this visit. I'm glad that it went well for you. I know much you were looking forward to having that alone time with your kids.

You haven't talked much about Chris and his family in the past. Your focus has mostly been Nichole. Now, you got me curious to know more about him and, of course, his thoughts and take on the time spent with his sister, mom, and dad.

Don't know if you noticed my absence recently. Duty took away all my free time. Whoever thought a six week grading period was a great idea is an idiot. I have to do grade reports every three weeks! Got no time to anything. Now, I am slipping under the weather. Thank goodness Thanksgiving break is just around the corner. I'm dying here. How anyone can do thirty years and have anything left to enjoy retirement is beyond my abilities to understand.

Hope all is well with you...

Wow! I was just thinking about you earlier. That's how energy waves work. We tuned into each other.
We had a couple of health crises with Chris as a toddler and team. Maybe I'll do a short bio on him. Basically, he's every woman's dream child.
I do hope you're investing part of your paycheck into annuities. That's what put on Green Street so I could retire at 62. I hated grade reports too. Every three weeks seems excessive. What is your class load. I usually had about 130 students.
Glad to see your name again.
I don't spend as much time on the site these days. Hubby demands more attention.

Any time you have a chapter with Jeff in it, I can count on the sparks to fly. This less so than most. I must say I was surprised at Frank's comment about Nichole.

Gee, a bear's lips and his tougue brushed my fingers. [... lips and his TONGUE ...]

Enjoyable read, Shari.

Thought I corrected that spelling a couple of hours ago. It shows up changed on my page. You'll find out more about Jeff's change in the next chapter. But he still shows his rough edges.
reply by Jay Squires on 16-Nov-2016
NO, I'm sure you made the change. What happens is I download it in the AM, but don't get to read it until the PM--after you've made the changes.

Sounds like a decent outing. Jeff may be mellowing with age. Did he have a job by then? He kind of looks like a troll who lives under a bridge. Just my first impression. :)

LOL. A troll. Love it. My mother was afraid that if the two had children, they would look like dwarfs. Jeff adores midgets.
reply by Phyllis Stewart on 16-Nov-2016
Jeff likes midgets because they make him look normal. LOL!

    Good point. Same with pugs.
