I'm so relieved the meal went well and you now have happy memories of the four of you together.
I laughed at your 'If I swish the wine, it will be all over the white linen tablecloth' line. Boy, can I relate to that!
I'm sure you are thankful Albino Chick and Maggot can still banter back and forth.

It's a relief to know that Jeff enjoyed Chris and his family too. More about that coming up.

Another person who sleeps during the morning. I go to sleep about the time the sun comes up. I only sleep about 3 hours usually anyway, so don't miss that much of the day.

The waiter let us to a corner table (led)

I hope the rest of the visit goes as well. Thanks for sharing this, my friend~Debbie

I wish I did like to get up early. I feel as if I'm wasting my life away. Thanks for catching the error.

I'm so glad everything went well and it felt like old times. Good to know that your kids may disappoint in some ways, but when it's just the four of you, the love is still there. :)

Yes, when Jeff comes into the picture, a little antagonism rears its head.

Nice picture. You have a lovely family. It is a joy to watch our children interact. Even as they age they seem to enjoy the sibling rivalry. I thank God often for blessing me with children. We can't pick their spouses though. Mine would still be married if I could have picked their mates. LOL Nancy

I agree. We should have a say in the matter at least. If birth hadn't been so painful, I wish now I had at least one more child.

This work has reached the exceptional level

It seems like it has been such a long time since I've read a chapter of When Blood Collides, Shari. I hope I haven't inadvertently missed anything.

"They're here!" I hollered. Frank's arthritic bones made it out of the cushioned seat. He turtle walked while I watched first Chris, then Nichole, emerge from the car doors. ... I found it more than a little bit funny that you should use this particular expression, Shari.
You see, all of my family has nick named me "turtle" because they claim I never get in any hurry to go anywhere fast, heh-heh...
It seems you may have left off the apostrophe "s" here as well...

"And you're still a maggot." She broke free and stuck out her tongue at him before hugging Frank. Yeah, nothing had changed.

Chris gave both of us a bear hug before we all headed to the restaurant.
... It's always wonderful to witness such lovely banter being passed about from sibling to sibling. It fills one with such a sense of simultaneous love and disgust, LOL...

I nudged my son. "I said it, didn't I? You married your sister."

He made a face. "Yuck."
... Hahaha. Well, it's often said that a boy will grow up to marry someone just like his mother. And let's face it, a lot of daughters are just like their mothers, too.
It's true what they say, you know? "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree..."

Incredulous at his passivity, she couldn't let go. "You get along with everyone?"

"Nichole," he put his fork down and smiled. "We're all computer geeks. We work for the government. Everything's top secret. We don't socialize."

Chris's nonchalant attitude impressed Nichole. She let the rudeness of co-workers get to her.
... I like Chris' analogy and his approach to association with co-workers here, Shari, as I've always felt the same way.
I am at work to do a job I am being paid to do.
I'm not there to socialize, nor am I required to befriend my co-workers.
Respect should always be given, but friendship is never a necessity...

Yet another fantastic chapter, Shari!

It's always a pleasure, Shari. You rarely have many mistakes, if any at all, so you make my "job" quite easy.
    Well done...
    ~Dean ;)
