Wow a love that seems to transcend all boundaries and limits. The writer is willing to place it all on the line to secure mutual feelings despite there being no guarantee of this occurring. Well done

A very well-written ekphratic poem. The violin player seems to enjoy playing for her lover through the night in the shining moonlight.

This is a lovely romance poem to fit the beautiful illustration, and violin music certainly can be romantic. Surely the one sought must be lured by such sweet music, whether or not it actually can be heard in the distance. I especially like the second stanza. Well done.

    Ronnie,

If I knew how to play a violin, I would play it for you. My daughter plays the violin and her boys all four play string instruments.
Two of which plays the Cello, one plays the Viola and the last child plays the Violin. Now, I can carry a tune, I am the singer in the house. Thanks you for this outstanding review, very kind comments and a six star rating. Lots of love my friend.......Portia

I like the Art Work you select for your writings Portia.
The imagery blends and plays well with your words to create a musical interlude of Love mystified be the vibrations of the violin and the lighting effects of the haunting full moon.
A cohesion of elements to create a well played story.

I love good music played by an artist who can become one with the instrument.
When you have time I would suggest watching a favorite piece of mine played on a violin that you probably haven't seen before it's a four minute video on you tube.
In your search window write in...Kristian Cavatina You Tube...You can't miss him make sure you click on the you tube video.

Well Done...Portia...Quantum Traveler...Phil.

    Hello Q.T.,

Last week I had the pleasure of attending an event at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra with my grandsons; the performance was awesome. The theme was Nature and Music.

Two of my grandsons play the Cello, one plays the Viola and the youngest plays the Violin. When I cam across the artwork on last night, it took my mind back to the beautiful music that was played on last week by the orchestra. When the musicians were playing, I closed by eyes and envisioned the beauty of nature and a peaceful and loving world.

I went to the site and checked out Kristian. He is an awesome violinist; I enjoyed the piece he played Cavatina, a lovely song indeed. The video showing the children reminded me of my grandson, trying to show his brother how to hold the bow as he is learning how to play his violin. Thanks for sharing, as I sure enjoyed that lovely piece. I placed it in my favorites whereas I can always have it to listen to, very peaceful music to bring calm.

Sorry, I got all caught up into Kristian, I almost forgot to thank you for your review and very kind comments and thank you my friend for sharing with me about this talented violinist. Blessings...............(excuse any and all errors)....Lots of Love......Portia

I am excited for you and your grandsons...NEVER let them QUIT playing...I love the Cello and Violin...So glad you enjoyed Kristian...I have some youth close by who are so talented and are also mastering the Violin and Viola and one who is an acoustic guitarist he is seventeen years old and has a excellent grip now on the twelve string guitar he is a joy to listen too.
Atlanta Symphony Orchestra playing Nature and Music would have loved to have been there for that...The Best to You Portia and tell your Grandsons KUDOS from me...Q.T...Phil.

This is quite lovely, lilting and more than a bit lyrical, Portia.
It almost reads like song lyrics and would be very easy to set to music, I would think.
As for playing the violin, huh-uh, no way, I've tried.
I'll stick to my woodwinds if it's all the same to you, heh-heh...

Nothing like a good tune on the old fiddle to to set a romantic mood. Ask any gypsy! That last set of four lines is pure poetry! Maybe I enjoyed this all the more because my son is an accomplished violinist. Some of the squeaks and squalls of early days weren't that romantic though! LOL

My grandson invited me to attend an event at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra on last Friday. The theme was Nature and Music, the performance was awesome. I closed my eyes as I was listening and I thought I was I Heaven.

When I came across the artwork on last night, I couldn't resist, as I was penning I could hear the beautiful music that was played by the orchestra.
