Hi Brett, a good write and explanation on the feline aids. I've had cats all my life and so far I have lost three cats to the decease. If you have cats the decease is well known and it is wide spread. It's so sad to see your pet succumb to it. When it finally breaks through it's only a matter of a a few weeks and your pet is dead. I've been there, done it, and it.s nasty. Two weeks ago we lost our beloved Pepina to it. I wrote a wee piece about my loss. Ulla:)

    Appreciate your comments and support.

Losing a pet is never easy.

Most times they become more like members of the family than animals.

A very well-written article about Feline Aids. I found the article very informative and interesting. I don't think it is fair to leave a sick animal behind when you move to another home.

Agreed. An animal should never be left behind when a person moves, since more people view them as members of the family.

A very interesting post, but what does this have to do with my punctuation?
Just kidding. I have two cats, A Savannah and a Bengal. I am very aware of the different cat diseases, That's why my cats never go outside.

I enjoyed reading your essay about feline AIDS. As a cat owner, I'm familiar with this. Your writing is clear and informative for those who may not know of it. Regarding your end question, pets are members of the family and must NEVER be abandoned under any circumstances. Marilyn

Brett, thank you for such a timely and well written education on Feline Aids. Informative is this missive. It is wonderful for you to take the time out of your creative writing schedule to educate us on such a disease for our beloved pets. thank you..as to your question.. a pet is part of the family, it is a family member, so "n"o to leaving it behind. Of course there are some mitigating circumstances. such as a job move to another country which would not allow.. if this is the case and there is no other avenue, then finding a good loving home is the answer and making the transition of utmost importance, also , providing finances for care..

well done.. jimi

My dearest friend, finally a topic I am so strongly behind. With rescue cats and the ferals that have to learn to survive outside, your last question has hit my life so many times. I have to watch them die because I cant get them to treat them or , as they say, put them down. It is heartbreaking to see them left behind.

Pets need all the help they can get, and for many, they never receive that assistance.

However, it is highly recommended by most veterinarians that all kittens from "Queens," or mother cars, be tested for Feline AIDS. typo (mother cars)

Interesting facts about an a disease which I was not aware of. Professionally written throughout. Also, might mention that male cats are at an increased risk of being infected due to territorial fighting. Photo of the cat is lovely ... looks like our cat.

Extremely informative...I am more of a dog person only because my hubby doesn't like cats. I find cats extremely comforting..loved the article.
