Opening and closing with 'October'
feels cumbersome to me.
You have only 17 syllables, and 6 are wrapped up in the same word.
And you use it in the title, too.
Haiku is meant to be expressive.
Just a thought.

I like the symmetry that goes with the 5-7-5 form of the haiku. And that is an aural symmetry as well as a visual one. All the standard witchy things are here that bring October to its magical ending.
