Oh my, I am so impressed that you are a able to paint such a vivid picture in so few words of a mood that is terrifyingly foreboding. Your artistic presentation is superb. I continue to be afraid of wolves after seeing a werewolf movie at the theater when I was a child. I had nightmares for two weeks.

Some werewolf films had an effect on me, but not too many.
An American Werewolf in London is probably my favorite film on the werewolf genre, as well as the Howling.
Thanks again for taking the time to read this, Sasha.
    I deeply appreciate the review.

I am still behind in reading but hope I can catch up soon. Sometimes life writes its own chapters and it's hard to keep up. But the two of you are telling an awesome haunting story. Evi

This is a chilling poem that I really should not read at night before bedtime. It gives me the creeps. In such few words you paint a picture and a mood that are foreboding. I find it hard to get those wolf's piercing eyes out of my imagination.

No thank you for scaring me, but thank you for sharing your considerable talent1

Dean,

This is yet another fine Hora Haiku you have penned my friend. The artwork is quite stunning. The eyes of the wolf and his master are piercing almost the same I think. My husband was asleep, as I am writing this review, He looked around and asked "what are you listening to?" I said, " the children of the night" I think he will fall back to sleep once I finish this review. Enjoyed the read and waking up my hubby, beside it time for his meds. Blessings...............Portia

Haha, at least you didn't have any cats or dogs who were frightened half to death, Portia. That's usually what readers tell me happens to them.
Thank you very much for dropping by to review this, Both Gypsy and I deeply appreciate it.

Everytime I read the quote from Bram Stokers Dracula, I think about the parody Dracula: dead and loving it. I can see Leslie Neilson stepping in bat poop. Then he sighs and says. "Ah, the children of the night. What a mess they make."
Another great poem. This is such a cool project. How will you know when it ends? Lol. Gretchen

We have no idea when it's going to end, Gretchen. I suppose when interest wanes and we decide to conclude the story.
    Part One is almost completed.
    Part Two is coming soon.
Thanks for reading and following along with our story. Both Gypsy Blue Rose and myself appreciate you doing so.

Dracula knows the howl of wolves possessed by evil waiting for unsuspecting humans drawn to dangerous places. The wolves are heroes of terror for Dracula. An excellent addition to your stories of this project.

Wow! Those eyes are piercing. Falconry was a big sport back in the days of yore. Then again, the Brits, French, Spanish were barbarians in many sports, such as bear-bating. Dogs (wolf hounds) played a big part in hunting and killing for their masters. Well done Dean. XX Some say the soul of the wolf wandered the land looking for prey. ****** six virtual stars today.

The eyes of the wolf and the soul seeker
are identical. This makes the picture even more
gripping.
Excellent haiku, Dean. I count 14 syllables with
the standard three lines. -Bill

Yes, I often work within the parameters concerning the syllable counts of more traditional haiku, Bill, rather than the Westernized bastardization it has become. As I'm sure you already know, the Japanese used sounds, not syllables, in creating their haiku. So as a result of that, many read with syllabic counts of less than 17.
Thank you very much for continuing to follow along with the story. Both Gypsy Blue Rose and myself certainly appreciate you doing so.

Hi Dean, a great chapter to the book of hora haiku. Again the first two lines provides a very strong message and the satori is impressive. Yes, it is as if the wolves can look right into your soul. I love it. All very best. Ulla:))

This is very well, done, Dean. The last line, satori is great. The first twolines paint a strong concrete picture. A great addition to this novel book, my friend~Debbie
