Dear Shari,
I just wanted to stop by and let a few friends know I am alive and well. We have been very busy with Church work and had to make time choices. I hope to return to FS early 2017.
You have lost yet another family member to Dementia of some sort. I am so sorry, it must scare you. At least Nicole is finally coming to see you and her father.
Take care, I think of you all often,
This election stuff has me concerned, only God knows the outcome.
Love, Carolyn

Thanks, Carolyn, for the six and the condolences.
Hopefully, when one or the other wins the election, the bitterness will die down.

    Love too,
    Shari

Hi Spitfire,

I enjoyed your story, but it is sad to see the physical decline with age. I have never heard of Lewy Body Dementia, so I was glad to learn something new. Alzheimer's is in my family. You are just left always hoping for a cure.

You left us on a somewhat humorous note with your husband not wanting Jeff to come along. That was a great ending.

I knew LBD existed, but not much else. Hey, I finally found an excuse for my visions. LOL. Hopefully, the bad genes will skip you.
I'll do a little backtracking on my next post to explain Both Frank and my attitude toward Jeff.

A well written story and educational as well. One doesn't hear to much about LBD.
So glad your daughter is coming to visit, and Jeff, though your husband isn't to thrilled about that part. Look forward to the next chapter!

Thank you so much, Marianne, for the sixer. I'm choosing to spend time on this to enlighten that part. Will work on next chapter this week.

Oh my! I hope the self-diagnosis you are alluding to is wrong. But, now that the possibility exists due to heredity, will that help doctors come to conclusion as to cause faster? My only hope for you is the news is not bad.

So, your daughter came for a visit is May. I can only imagine how much you must have been looking forward to that. I hope it went well.

I laughed at the last line by Frank. He really doesn't like the man, does he?

When memories begin to fade, I often wonder which memories are the stronger, the negative or the positive? I'm sure you have some insight into that.

Will look for the next installment to find out how the visit went.

No one can guess the future, thank goodness. I don't intend to tell any doctor about this. It gives them an easy way out.
Frank remembers with fondness his young days, but dwells on the negative things that occurred in our senior years.

Very informative post, Shari. I'd not heard of LBD before but it sures sounds pretty rough. Glad to see Nichole coming for a visit, even with Jeff! :-)

It's fascinating the cells doctors find in our brain.
Can't wait to write about Nichole and Jeff. Mostly good.

Well, I hope your daughter's visit brought some joy into your life. It sounds like it was a mixed bag with Jeff along. I enjoyed the story and can relate to those moments of intuition.

Take care,
Russell

Thanks, Russell. Glad you have those moments too. A mixed bag is right.

I don't know much about LBD, but all dementias are so very sad. I hope the visit turned out well for you. Be looking for the next chapter to find out, my friend~Debbie

I didn't know Robin Williams had Lewy Body dementia. I have had several patients who had this type of dementia. The age varies, some were in their seventies and one lady was ninety. It is great that your daughter is coming for a visit but sounds like your husband is not too fond of his son in law.

Apparently, it's not that rare. Williams was very depressed and not in his right mind, I'm sure, when he chose to hang himself.
Previous chapters have documented the discord between Jeff and me too.

Sounds like your father certainly remembers Jeff! Interesting information about Lewy Body Dementia. I'll have to read more about that. If you have stress, there's no disease that's causing yours. Too bad part of the reason for your daughter's visit was that Jeff wanted to go to Key West. At least it's a visit in your eyes, regardless of the motivation. This is so full of family situations that everyone can relate to--the death of Anne, your disappointment that it's been so long since your daughter has visited, etc. Well told. judi

Interesting that you noted too that Nichole had a motive for coming to Florida the didn't make us the real reason. But who knows. It may be the mask she still holds onto from former grievances.

You're usually right about her motives. judi

Shari,

I couldn't tell by what you wrote - are you thinking that you have LBD, or that Frank may have it? I never heard of this disease until the Robin Williams incident. This whole situation is a nightmare for you. It has to start getting better soon. I don't know how much more you can endure. I know that writing about it, and getting it out, makes things a little bit easier. Keeping it inside, or having no one to talk to about it, makes things seem larger than life and impossible to deal with. So keep writing . . .

Thanks, Suz, for the only sixer on this, but then it is late in the week. Actually, I've always feared that Parkinson's would be my demise. I don't really dwell on being a victim of some debilitating disease, but it's good to know signs to look for.
Of course, I see or hear things all the time. LOL
