Thank you very much, Angie, and I am very sorry to learn of your loss.
Twenty-eight years is a very long time to be married to someone, especially with the times being as they are in which we live today.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, and I've no doubt you'll pull through while leaving sorrow and mourning far behind you, with only fond memories like whispers in their stead.

Thank you Dean. I hope so. I had been with him since 17 now I'm 46 and more lost than ever. I tried to take my life but it didn't work. Not my time I guess. At least he is with our daughter again finally. Big hugs🤗

This is so well written, and anyone who has ever worked with rhyme and meter would be forced to admit you've accomplished something quite remarkable here. The internal rhymes, so precise and rich, add much to this, (reminding one of The Raven, of course) and the whole presentation is so apt. It is a morbid tale with a profound moral that is unforgettable. I loved everything about it.

This is so well written, and anyone who has ever worked with rhyme and meter would be forced to admit you've accomplished something quite remarkable here. The internal rhymes, so precise and rich, add much to this, (reminding one of The Raven, of course) and the whole presentation is so apt. It is a morbid tale with a profound moral that is unforgettable. I loved everything about it.

Oh, no, Alex, never worry that you've no sixes left to award when contemplating whether or not to grace me with your review. I fully realize there are sooooooo many talented poets and authors here that I too find it very difficult to hang onto my own sixes past Wednesday. While I deeply appreciate each and every six I am fortunate enough to receive, it is never my motivation for writing.
I am grateful to you for deciding to drop by and give me the benefit of your insights and wisdom.
That alone is reward enough for me.

Great job on this poem! You really do well painting a picture of the dark village and bringing out the terror of the wanderer. The use of archaic language works well here and helps give it a creepy feel.

I loved that poetic cadence that echoes Poe's The Raven beautifully. The story unfolds poetically with your flourish of macabre details so eloquently addressed to achieve the horrific impact desired. The rhyming was terriffic. The use of caesura was integral to the impact. Superb imagery in verse and graphics. You captured my attention with your very first beautifully crafted line. Loved the dillydally line. You ever taught me a new word that echoed Poe's famous "nevermore" with "aigremore." Bravo!
