Having put a smile on my face at the homespun philosophy of this, a phrase came to mind and I thought you should be made aware of the definition from Wikipedia as it applies quite well to the last two stanzas of your amusing poem.

"A weasel word, or anonymous authority, is an informal term for words and phrases aimed at creating an impression that a specific or meaningful statement has been made, when instead only a vague or ambiguous claim has actually been communicated. This can enable the speaker to then deny the specific meaning if the statement is challenged.

"Tergiversation is synonymous with the use of weasel words to avoid making an outright assertion. Weasel words can imply meaning far beyond the claim actually being made. Some weasel words may also have the effect of softening the force of a potentially loaded or otherwise controversial statement through some form of understatement; for example, using detensifiers such as "somewhat" or "in most respects".

I thought you and Wally would enjoy "Tergiversation". What a wonderful word.

Ooooo, what a word. Can you say it three times quickly? haha

Not only a very nice review, but I learned something, too. Thank you. I'm going to copy this and keep it.

(The nuns always told us "live and learn, else why live." I didn't tell them I could think of lots of other reasons. LOL.) 8-)

Yvonne, another good Wally story. I like the moral to the story ...
grumbling, throwing fits, or pouting never gets the job done. We
need to show that example more to our children and grandchildren.
Good rhyming and flow.

Thank you. I'm hoping to get some message across to children. It's sometimes better coming from someone like Wally than from grownups. 8-)

I loved this story in a poem. It flowed beautifully, very quirky, the rhetoric was great, the language most suited to the general narrative, also the abcb rhyming also flatters the smooth story, very good, most entertaining, well done. Blessings, Roy

A very well-written poem. Wally is a practical weasel, he likes to create with his hands. To start a new garden is hard work. At the end though it will be all worth the effort when the flowers start to bloom.

There is no end to what Wally the Weasel can accomplish when he sets his little weasly mind to it, is there, Yvonne?
Too bad it isn't like that for most people as well.

If at first you don't succeed,
go ask Wally 'bout the seed
he once planted in the ground
and the joys that now abound.

Great work as usual, Yvonne.

Go Wally, go wally, go wally, go...

I like this story within a poem about Wally planting a garden. Those rocks always seem to be in the wrong spot! I enjoyed another Wally poem.

This is excellent. I love the rhythm of it, the way it flows so easily. You had great use of rhyme. I really love that it entertains and also teaches a lesson.

Thank you. In the other Wally stories, I try to teach something. Also, I had a word sometimes that needs to be explained.

Thank you for a lovely review. 8-)

Really cute poem. I love to write poems. I like them to be funny most of the time. This is well written, had good flow and rhyme. The hardest part of writing a poem is making it say what you want and making that rhyme. I get really frustrated sometimes with that. Anyway, well done and a very fun poem.
