This was a frighteningly wonderfully told story. I found myself actually holding my breath! My husband and I used to sail, so this one was particularly close to my fast-beating heart.

I can only imagine how scary this would have been. I was amazed that you were able to go out without lifeboats or radios. One thing to look at: "This trip was a one week trip to Bimini and Nassau for some gambling." You used the word "trip" twice in the same sentence. You could easily omit the first "trip" and the sentence would still make sense. Same problem in this sentence: "Seriously, with no lifeboat or way to call for help, we would be in serious trouble." Again, omit the first "seriously".
I loved the way you ended the story with "Anyone want coffee?"

It sounds like Bob and finally you took this dangerous night, where you all could have drowned, in stride.
I can imagine how frightened everyone must have been.
Your description was very visual (especially where your feet lifted from the deck): 'The waves were getting bigger by the minute and the rain was torrential. The boat would reach the top of the wave, shift, then dive into the trough. I was at the helm and a few times, both feet came completely off the deck as I hung onto the wheel. '

Thanks for the review. I think now how reckless that was to sail across the Gulf Stream a notoriously dangerous crossing with no radio or life boat, but we were young and invincible. The funny thing was the people always came back for another trip, ha ha, cheers, j

Wow, sounds like an exciting journey.
You gave a very descriptive narrative of the vessel, but skimmed through the details of the dramatic storm. I would prefer the opposite.
The closing is cute.
