You convey the dark memories Mirela is having about her mother. It makes me wonder what she will do when she finally wakes. Claudiu seems to care for her as he watches over her while she sleeps. Excellent presentation with this one.

Yes, we all have a dark side deep inside us, some people more than others. Mirela is basically good but the blood of an evil and powerful witch runs through her veins. On top of that, dad is not going to win the best father award anytime soon. Poor kid.

Claudiu is very protective of Mirela. I have a feeling that he will always be there when she needs him, but maybe not ... :) I don't know what Dean has in mind for the next haiku and vice versa. LoL

So, I take it Mirela is sleeping and having these horrible nightmares your haiku mentions...something to do with the cold and cruel winter wind and evil deeds performed by kindred spirits....? Otherwise, I'm lost again... Help!

LoL I am sorry, Robyn. I keep confusing you. I just wrote a synopsis for our horror haiku book. It's called Hora Haiku: A Book of Gothic Poetry. I thought it may help our readers follow the story better. I hope it helps :)

[wicked east wind bestows] = mirela's mother is a witch

[upon me veiled evil deeds] = an evil witch that wants her daughter to follow her steps but mirela doesn't want to. Mirela lost her memory but the nightmares she is having are bringing her memory back.

kindred spirits= they are kindred spirits because they are mother and daughter.

This is an interesting story (reading the authors notes) and this is a great haiku and a great setting. So very difficult to be writing this story in haiku, well done to you both.

This is a great presentation. Good job with the format of the haiku.

Your artwork choice is perfect. It looks like Mirela is sleeping & probably dreaming about the who she is & why she is in this place.

The color scheme is perfect--dark but not too dark.

Your words leave readers wondering what will happen next. I don't remember reading much about her mother in earlier haiku--maybe we will find out some more info on her [???].

Mirela' s mother is a witch and her father a fallen Angel. Mirela doesn't remember too much about her previous life but she is having nightmares about her mom and dean's haiku is about a werewolf.

You could say that Mirela' s family is a little dysfunctional. LOL

Gracias, bonita. Que buena eres. Dean and I appreciate that you are following our book along. It's a fun project. :) We both love horror and haiku. I bet you would be an awesome haikuist if you put your mind to it, but it is not for everyone. I am a very visual person so it makes a lot of sense to me.
