I applaud you for being truly poetic here.
You understand the subtlety of the short form.
You give me credit for knowing the origin
of the smoke. A lesser poet
would have been more blunt.
Best of luck.
Peace, Lee

Lovely short poem. The background colour is really good as well considering the theme .It is good to see you using your skills to bring into light the effects of deforestation

Hi june
The poem is simple in its understanding. Flowing very well into a sudden point of true awakening and self realisation .
The imagery i thought was befitting for the poems reading.sar

Comment from Gloria ....
Yes indeed, the rain forest is under attack for economic growth for the region. Are they are able to replant the trees there so you know, or is the vegetation just gone?
Love the name of the snake and yes of course all our ecosystems are changed by deforestation.
Excellent job with this and best wishes to you in the contest.

Oh, yes, I got the message here, loud and clear. It sickens me to think about what we're doing. Excellent way to show the devastation of deforestation. Well done.

This says so much in so few words. We are killing our planet, and so many of it's living creatures, by destroying the rain forests. They cannot be replaced.

What gorgeous markings on that poor snake.
Quite obviously, deforestation has a profoundly negative affect on many of the wildlife living in their respective regions.
So sad what we do to our lovely Earth.
Best wishes to you in the competition.

Hello, my friend. Fine syllable count. The presentation is lovely and the presentation is very attractive and colorful.
It's horrible what greedy men and ignorance does to our planet and sentient beings.

I just finished writing a review for another 5-7-5 poem entry in this contest and said much the same thing, although I didn't start naming species - this is excellent! Trees are vital to HUMANITY'S survival too, as they clean the pollution out of the air for us.

Remove the habitat and inevitably one removes the creature. Man is pretty much the only creature that can adapt his environment to suit himself. Doesn't mean he has to though does it?
