WOW!
Wonderfully written, Tony! As only YOU can do, you've had me banging my damn drum marching through the living room.
This has a wonderful frantic pace that just makes you frantic! ;)
Great feminine rhymes throughout and it lends to the great meter!
Good luck to you in this contest... looks like a real competition!
Hugs

I loved this one! I know nothing about your Rondeau's but I know when something evokes a positive happy way of thinking, and this does. Your smiles are as much in your writings as they are in your picture. It's really quite lovely!

I love your Rondeau Redouble. I tis so upbeat and encourages one to live life to
the fullest.
Perfect meter that matches the jaunty mood of the piece and the action of
riding that bicycle
Terrific word choice and clever rhyming and placement of repeat lines.
Best of luck in the contest.

Interesting form! I like the dactylic rhythm which bring to mind the drum beat. This is only the second rondeau that I've read so it's new and I like how the lively call to live life to the fullest is repeated from the first stanza to the consecutive ones. I don't feel like the picture matches except for the one reference to bicycling in the fifth stanza. How does one pedal "hairily?" Enjoyable to read!

Very many thanks for your kind review, Lyenochka. Glad you enjoyed my rondeau redouble. I appreciate your comments. In British and Australian slang 'hairy' means 'alarming' or 'dangerous' - probably derived from the term 'hair-raising'.

Ah! Americans do say, "hairy" to mean scary but never in the adverbial form. Thanks for the explanation. I enjoy learning more about British and Aussie English.

Jaunty piece. Upbeat playful. I liked your artwork and felt it complimented your piece nicely. I just finished one of these so I know they are no easy feat. Good luck in the contest.

Well Tony I almost missed this perfect little gem of a rondeau redouble. Everything is in perfect order as is always found in your writing.

Who would've thought such an off beat form could produce such a lovely result.

Great job and best wishes to you in the contest. :))

Gloria

Hi i have to say this poem did a number on me as a musican by the second stanza i had already a formulated a syncopated percussive beat on the body of my guitar.
Ita a really effective upbeat poem and is as enjoyable as the imagery it creates having fun on a bicycle on a warm summers day..
I am still learning the terms for the structure of the poems, however this really worked for me well done tfawcus..

You have mastered many forms of poetry to the point than they seem innate to your being - that extend your poems beyond their simple or complex formats keeping the message intact.

I really enjoyed this poem. The descriptions were great, and the rhyming was superb. You could sing it! :) You inspired me to try to write more challenging forms of poetry. It looks complicated but fun. Great job! :)
