Quite a warm and compelling thought here filled with seasonal and romantic references. Great starting word choice well expanded upon by the poem. Best of luck.

Many thanks for the positive feedback. Enjoyed these warm thoughts and images, trying to psych myself up for the upcoming winter months here in New England. Glad you enjoyed it.

This rictameter is charming and extremely expressive. One of the best I've ever read on this site.
â?¢ wonderful choice of two-syllable refrain that has a double meaning as we read through the poem.
â?¢ the way your camera glides! We see first the cider being poured, then get a flashback to why it's welcome, and finally the close-up of the couple lying near the fire enjoying the cider and each other..
â?¢ your ability to make the reader able to share the ENTIRE experience.
Wonderful and definitely worth six stars! Rod

Once again, I appreciate your kind words and am glad you enjoyed the rictamete. I'm not sophisticated - just sincere.

An excellent rictameter. It is an idyllic scene you have written about here. Open fires are becoming a thing of the past so these scenes are becoming rare. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I'm old school all the way...still like open fires.
