Books in hospitals do play major roles in critical/crisis health moments. However, unless the books are spiritual readings, I could never relax while reading them in a hospital setting.

Your well-written poem certainly describes those intense moments people experience in hospital waiting rooms and patients' rooms.

Thank you for sharing.

I liked your palindrome poem, reversing stanzas. Very well done in style and verse. Brings the suffering from war, home to the reader. Well done.

WOW! That was wonderful. I can't begin to imagine writing something that long that reads the same forward and backward, and makes sense both ways. Great job!

Having a love of books and many lengthy hospital stays, this really resonates with me. I am not usually a fan of Palindromes, but you have made this into a very meaningful write. Best wishes in ther contest, my friend~Debbie

Thank you, I spend entirely too much time on it, so I appreciate your review. I too have spent too many hours in a hospital with books.

This is an exceptionally well written Palindrome poem, tollyfaye.

Sterile settings amid
patience with patients
... excellent example of alliteration here and phonetics of "s".
"Patience with patients" was a nice play on words, only I felt the two would have read much better had they been reversed, "Patients with patience."

Composing a Palindrome in such a manner to where it reads coherently both forwards and backwards is no easy feat.
I know; I've done it before myself.

Excellent...

I flipped and flopped the Patience line on the front and back reading. I finally decided to go with it and just read it out loud, to cheat the system. Thank you, for your kind review and honesty--those Palindromes are very hard to write. Works my dusty brain!

Wow! This is an amazing example of Palindrome Poetry. I enjoyed and marveled that your poem reads forward and backward. Both wings of this butterfly poem convey the life and death struggles inside of hospitals and how books provide comfort to those within. This is a well executed poem with a powerful theme and message.

Thank you for sharing. I wish you success in the contest.

Thank you for your kind review. It was challenging and a bit fun to write, but it was also a struggle and I worry that it doesn't work! Reviews help!

I am a great admirer of those whose intelect can produce palindromes. Perhaps they should all become politicians for, whatever they say it seems to come out the same or dfifferent or whatever they want it to mean.

Politics aside I tend to look at a palindrome and when I have finished wodering at its cleverness I just want to ask why? Perhaps the answer is "I am training to be a politician.

That is the best answer as to the "why" part. It is such a hard thing to figure out forwards and backwards! Thank you for reading mine!

Well down with this palindrome,a very nice read. I enjoyed the flow and rhythm of this piece, and even though it's sad it's still enjoyable. Thanks for sharing

A very well-written Palindrome. The books in hospitals let the patients wait patiently for their appointments. Reading about hospitals give us more insight of the working of hospitals, a win - win situation.

Thank you! I know that when my dad was sick, I ended up reading about books about hospitals while in a hospital I always felt that was a deep kind of moment. Or a pun. And now a Palindrome. :)

I almost called it Books in Hospitals, but I was afraid it would get skipped, and that people wouldn't want to read about hospitals. Trickery on my part. But I wonder if I should edit it.
