I have mine to do tonight as I forgot. OOPS
Excellent telling of the sea as she tries to take the men, and the lighthouse as it tries to bring them home.

Very nicely done, Sandra. I can image that in the old days the
role of a sailor was very frightening. Even in the rough seas today with better equipment it's scary. Rhyming and cadence are good throughout. Marilyn

I like your poem and I thought the rhyme was perfect.
I love the symbolism of the lighthouse. God is always with us if we are open to him.
It is a well written poem with an awesome story.

:-) Such an iconic tale you have penned here :-)

I'm so happy to see someone chose to write about the importance
to seafarers the lighthouse represented! A wonderfully told tale
of sea's treachery, prayers for assistance and the light of salvation!

Well done Sandra :-)

Sandra, you and I were pretty much on a parallel wavelength with the picture. I enjoyed your words very much. Nicely written and rhyming is good. Patricia

Sandra, I love your take on this one. It makes me think about how at times we may all have felt like the sailors...our prayers haven't been heard and we fear the worst and then God shows us He did hear.

Yep, the rhyme was all over the place and I think you literally threw this one together. Maybe because you have not been writing poetry of late. Your stories are wonderful. Still, the message of the Lighthouse comes through in this, your poem. Well done sticky-bun.

Thank you, Kay. Yes, I wanted it to feel like the ocean waves, dipping and rising! LOL. It seems to have been received really well. I'm so pleased you understood the message. Thanks, Kay. :) Sandra xxx

Beautiful poem, Sandra. You wrote an epic adventure in only four stanzas. THat's quite a feat!

They heard the hull, they heard it moan
as it tried hard to take them home.

Scary lines. I thought the ship was going to break apart. :)

Thanks for sharing another of your fine poems that always seem to touch me in a special way, whether written for children or adults. So I guess you just bring out the little boy in me. :-)

I enjoyed reading this poem. Isn't it amazing how God shines in light to help us through tough times. Your poem explains this in a very good way with a smooth flo of words.
