I live in Florida, lighthouses are a part our landscape. A friend gave me a painting of a ship being tossed in the dark. In the distance the sailors see a lighthouse and know they've found their way.

I live in the south of England but have them dotted all around the coastline of the UK. . I would imagine they are situated all over the world, one of the few world-wide buildings that all seamen recognise and look out for. My family are all navy, and I love the sea, rough or calm. Thank you, dear Nancy. I do like these challenges, I'm afraid they are the only poems I'm writing lately. It's a pentameter - tetrameter, is it? This poem is FANTASTIC!!! A very clever and creative poem and short story. The rhyming is really good and unforced and the syllable count is consistent throughout which allows the poem to flow effortlessly. Really nice job, keep up the good work.
