I like the idea of leaving the reader to finish the story, especially so in flash fiction. I've heard that about 50% of all home fires start in the dryer so the utility room is the logical place to look.

This is not a story. This is the start of a story. Stories require endings. Since you only have 100 words, that makes it a challenge. You cheated by omitting the end.

Excellent. You draw the reader into the story right from the start and hold one there until the end. It kind of leaves the reader hanging but what can you do with 100 words. Good work.
