The remarkable thing about this is that the animals all speak perfect English. And everyone has to pee, not urinate or tinkle or any other euphemism.

LOL! Thanks. That's only how Jack's brain interpreted it. Did you really think this was worth only four stars? Seriously? Or did you hit the wrong number by mistake?

Nicely written story; seems to be making a statement, although I would be hard-pressed to say whether that statement speaks to writers, reviewers, or both. At any rate, I enjoyed reading.

LOL!! He became a butcher!! Oh my goodness, Phyllis, that was so funny. I loved the story, and I think that one star review of the book he wrote, was about right, I could have written that book without all those years studying. LOL. Well done, that was a real 6 stars worth, perhaps you should show Jack how it's done! Superb. xsx Sandra xxx

Haha great story. I really liked it. And especially the way you showed how
What can seem like a brilliant idea In Your head, when put down on paper can be pure poo. And you will know who did that poo

LOL, that is a really funny story! I really hoped that animals were thinking more than that, but I guess I was wrong.

I suppose Jack was disappointed as well, since he became, of all things, a BUTCHER!

I'm going to go on the assumption that Jack had a few screws loose, and those were HIS thoughts. Animals have more thoughts than that.

I know my dog is thinking, "Oh, she's still mad at me from yesterday, but I don't understand what I did wrong," and "Oh, here she comes! Maybe I will get an ear rub." and "Why are you giving me this new food stuff? What happened to the old stuff I have been eating for two years? Does this mean I did something wrong?" "Why did she place my water bowl three inches to the right this time?"

Poor Jack. I hope he finds his true calling.

LOL! Thanks, Kelly. That story was just for fun. I have three dogs and I agree... they're very much aware of what's going on and have definite opinions about it! :)

You have truly penned a
wonderful story. Your scenes
play out in a reasonable sequence
with good description in your
narratives and expressive dialogue.
An easy and enjoyable read and the
end while it made me chuckle was
the perfect with it's twist. no nits
or spags. Lora

LOL..."He went back to school and became a butcher." GREAT line. And completely unexpected. I love the way you develop the character through his relationship with animals instead of by describing him. Brilliant. Love this piece!

Beautifully proofed and funny! The ending has a real sting in the tail, and changes our perception of Jack in a heartbeat. Poor Jack... The only quibble I have with this story, and it's a subjective one, so won't affect my rating. is that the audience is a bit blurry. The first few paragraphs imply the story is about a small boy and thus suits emerging readers. The story changes to a general readership. I was thinking maybe older readers would reject a story that seems an easy-read for young children while young readers might find the older Jack's experiences uncomfortable. As I said--a subjective view.

Great artwork, Phyllis. A humorous take on what animals truly think. All it took was one bad review and he was out! I like the twist ending - becoming a butcher instead.
