Yes you're right, but in addition to being a great form of exercise for both of you, it's also a fabulous way to enhance your relationship. Nice use of brief words for this contest. Thanks for sharing this piece and good luck in the contest.

Wishing you all the best...
Bill~

Yes, Bill, the walks not only enhance our fitness and our relationship, but Mina and I just walked ourselves into a second place win in the contest! Thank you for your review.

Thank you for sharing. I love Autumn, and I can just picture you now, hanging on to that leash for dear life. Thanks for reminding me my favorite season is almost here.

Yes, crybry67, I gripped that leash for dear life, and now our senryu placed second in the contest! Thank you for your review.

This is funny and ironic. But it does sometimes seem like a big dog walks its owner. The dog is too powerful for the walker to control totally.

I hope you did well in the contest.

Keep writing

Oh, yes, dragonpoet, I will keep writing. I went through ten drafts and two walks to craft this Senryu which won me second place and $ in the contest! Thank you for your review.

Funny perspectives given in this write, a reversal of roles between owner and their pet, which owner is directed by pet in s walk. Soft humor in this work with captivating aspects yielding interests to reader: I found appealing in taste. A descriptive read.

Classic! I loved this. I bet there would be a few on site that would identify with this just as I have done. It's a pity that now I have time to smell the roses, I can't and now that I have time to listen to the birds, I am too deaf!

Oh, tfawcus, there is more than a few reviewers on FanStory who would identify with my poem. They helped me place second in the Senryu contest. Thank you for your review.

I too have a Chihuahua named Gidget, so I could clearly see where you're coming from here. Gidget is nearly fifteen-years-young now and not as spry as she used to be. However, neither am I so I guess that makes us even.
Good imagery utilized here, although it was quite easy to visualize the scenario.
After all, I've lived it too, lol.
Best wishes!

Oh, thank you, Dean, for your heartfelt review and say hi to Gidget for Mina. I saw that we both placed on the podium with our Senryu, so congratulations. Thanks.

How sweet! You are walking each other.

Pets keep us going when we wouldn't otherwise, don't they?

Good picture you've painted with your words. 8-)

Yes, damommy, pets keep us going. When I came home today, I was prepared to sit and write but my dog insisted on a walk, so I followed her. She, a Chihuahua, dragged me around a mile and a half course. Just as we reached the door, my Fitbit bracelet buzzed with news that I had walked 10,000 steps today. I am so proud of my dog and so proud of myself. During our walk, I came up with edits for my senryu and decided to enter it in the contest. Thank you for your review.

10,000 steps. Wow! Good for you.

I used to have Great Danes, and taking them for a walk could be a challenge, except they were always so docile. If they had decided to, they could have carried me in their mouth. LOL. 8-)

A lovely poem. I can imagine you being pulled along by the over excited, happy pup. Once upon a time, my border collie was much the same, stopping at every tree leaving his watery mark... The occasional solid mess. As time moved on, he much prefers the quiet homely life. Well done

Thank you, joannakruk, for your review. Yes, I was taken aback by my dog calling the shots about the walk. Fortunately for me, I listened not only to her but to ideas floating through my head about this poem. When we returned from our walk, I wrote and posted this poem. Thanks again.
