I like the flow of this stream of consciousness piece. This is a sad commentary on the horrors of war outside of death. It would seem no one who faces combat comes home unscathed. It is a story told decade after decade, century after century, yet young men still often yearn for the glory of combat. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, my friend. So many broken men and broken families as a result~Debbie

This guy's in trouble. He's sounding suicidal. He needs more help. He's not getting what he needs. His family is oblivious to his condition. They should all be in family counseling to help dad recover.

You definitely show a changed man. A whole man who's broken and can't cope with PTSD and amputation.

Well done, Debbie. Excellent response to the Potlatch Prose Challenge.

Thanks, Ellen. Just the disability and no longer being able to work and facing poverty had me extremely depressed for 3 years. I can't imagine the horror of war on top of it. It has to be unreal~Debbie

It is quite something to face and pull out of. You should know. You were strong enough to do it.
