-I noticed on my calendar that Sunday was Father's Day in Aus. and NZ.

there is a strong connection that stays with you.
-Wonderful poetic tribute to your dad.

-I think these lines are true for many sons or daughters:

This is a fine poem and tribute to your father
That he was and still is special comes through your words
and the rhyme, shed a tear each time

You know bill I have a really bad habit of doing that thanks for picking that up. and thanks for the happy fathers day my dear friend. you have wonderful grandkids who share the same compassion as their grand dad

Yes, as children we have no concept of how much our parents sacrifice for us. Not until we are older and with children of our own do we realize this and appreciate all that our parents did for us. Your poem makes me think of my own father. I miss him too. He passed away sixteen years ago.
Funny how in different parts of the world Father'sDay is on different days. In Canada we have our Father's Day in June.

What a lovely poem dip and the strong bond with your Dad is evident. I'm sorry for your loss and understand what it's like. My Dad passed away 16 plus years ago so Fathers Day has become more of a reflective time for me too...With that said, I try not to get too down as my two kids are always excited to give the hubby his Fathers Day hand made presents so it's nice to enjoy it on a different level...in fact, there isn't much time to feel down at all.
Your Dad sounds wonderful and this is quite a fitting tribute to him. Well done.

Thanks so much Thomas. I think we all miss our dads when they pass on for whatever reason. My sympathy for your dad even though it might have been years the memories live on

Thankyou Susan He was a good Dad and i still miss him..He wasn't perfect but then again most Dads aren't but nonetheless there were some fond memories He was always there for me.
