A very well-written Cinquain. I loved to dance as well in my younger days. It feels like having wings when you have the right partner.

Very nice poem which really shows the freedom and beauty of dance. I like the incorporation of autumn and leaves. To me the "tossing bright rainbows through the air" was confusing, but I take it to mean that letting yourself completely go, in joy, is spreading beauty through the universe.

I love that your last word, by itself, is alive. How true this is. Our body's movements are truly the epitome of life.

Beautiful.

I think your love of dancing comes through here. The poem has so much enthusiasm in it. I love 'feet 'a flutter'. Autumn leaves seem to beg to be kicked about and sent swirling!

Nicely done.

I may be old, but I never tire of poems about autumn leaves. I can easily visualize a youngster dancing as they swirl around her. Great image of "feet 'a flutter." I also like the leaf analogy to rainbows. Indeed, such an experience would make anyone feel more "alive."

LOVE this, as Autumn is my favorite season and one of my most cherished memories wiht my mom is playing in a pile of leaves six feet high...we would climb the tree and jumps into the pile and then dance. So your poem sounded just like that day...so ALIVE it felt like we were
"tossing bright rainbows through the air"

Yes! Thanks for the joy.

Blessings, rd

A wonderful read, great imagery, a theme that every reader can relate to. I felt like I was walking through a park, kicking up autumn leaves enjoying nature. Thank you for helping me to escape for a brief moment.

Cynthia1, you have written a good entry into the Cinquain poetry contest. All syllables are in check and your subject of dancing is a good one. I enjoy dancing too, mainly to the rhythm of a song I like. Anything else I prefer to sit out. Music and dance are a great expression and another way to feel alive. I enjoyed reading your poem. Best of luck in the competition. ~DD

Wonderful sense of movement in this poem!
I could feel myself twirling through the crisp Autumn leaves.
Nice choice of artwork, too!

Wonderful imagery of complete freedom and being carefree. I love that dancing is a symbol of that and having it being done in autumn where things are beginning to die yet you're feeling so alive is really great insight that happiness and freedom comes from within. Wonderful read.
