Yeah, I'm not sure how they pick the winner for that. I've only had a couple votes a couple times for it, not sure if it's the one with the most nominations that win or what. It is a mystery for sure.

I sure do appreciate a good rant and poetry form makes it even better. I don't know if the game is fixed or rigged but it can certainly feel that way when substance doesn't matter--only numbers. Great poem!

Thanks Gladys sounds like we are in as an old pastor's wife said to me a number of times "the same boat!" ha! I just hope Tom sees all the symp[athetic reviews I am getting and pulls his socks up. other wise we are all gonna leave him and he will have to go out and get a job, ha.

Yes, the same people(or the person, I should say) win again and again because they thoroughly deserve it. That being said, I can relate to your condition. Yes, it can be frustrating. It happened twice that I had more than 40 nominations, still I didn't even or got placed, as second, third and honorable mentions are new things here. Back in those days, it used to be a single award - no second or third place. I felt bad too at that time, but the person who won was much more deserving.
However, I also won the ROM contest twice! So, I would urge you to keep trying and trying. Even if you don't win, it will give you a great feeling of satisfaction. Wishing you all the best!

Thanks for the review. My rant is passed. Have had so much support. I feel justified. Won't be around much after July next year when my account comes up for renewal.

I enjoyed the "rant"- expressed well. Your rhyme and rhythm seem to work well to move the poem along in a rather bouncy light- hearted manner. This gives the meaning of the poem a different slant. Much more breezy rather than critical. I liked it.

Thanks Sis. Rant time is over now. Things need to improve on FS. Rules need to change to make things much fairer. I am only staying till my year runs out next July. God Bless. Share a great Siggy Dean Kuch made for me a while back.

I have had up to 15 contest review nominations at one time and wasn't even in the running. I have known people who've had hundreds and weren't in the running. What can you deduct from that?

Yes Barbara the recent winner has defended their win up to their back teeth. One of the other friends says we would have to be reviewing and stuff nearly 24 hours a day to get a chance at it!

I am not sure what your intention is this piece. If you are upset that you didn't win or you simply see the same people win.
The reason the same people win is...they work at it. Thirty or forty thumbs to win is a tall order. That means you probably need to review fifty to sixty different people and be able to help and have a writer that is receptive and be gracious and not hurt the writers' feelings and... and...
I respect the people who can do that, and I also respect your opinion.

The reason the same people win is...they work at it. Thirty or forty thumbs to win is a tall order. That means you probably need to review fifty to sixty different people and be able to help and have a writer that is receptive and be gracious and not hurt the writers' feelings and... and...

I can definitely relate dear sankey! The top 10 seems always to win even though they sometimes cut corners. But don't be bitter and learn from the best. Read and write and read again.
