Very nicely done. I agree completely. The best deeds are done anonymously. No need to blow our own horn. Your poem is illustrated well to match your tanka. I enjoyed seeing the new photo in your profile. Marilyn

I like your definition of compassion. Very nice tanka that expresses a characteristic often seemingly lacking in today's world. Your tanka format is good. Syllable count is correct and I love the illustration chosen.

-Nice image and presentation.
-Good poem and topic.
-I like the philosophical aspect of it.
-It has a lot to say about compassion,
being kind, "without expecting reward."
-The world certainly needs more of that.
-Good luck in the contest.

Hi rspoet. Again thank you for reading my poem and for your freat feedback . I hope it meet Tanka criteria, still dabbling in the format but worth the try. Cheers Christine😄

What a great title that draws in the reader. The image gives a sense of movement. Both set the stage for the Tanka that "suggests" rather than "tells" the reader to be kind to strangers. Line and syllable count are accurate and the tone of the Tanka makes the message very effective.

Hi mybrooks. Thank your for that comment re the title I thought of it after I wrote the poem and it just seemed a fitting title as compassion should be given just because and for no alterior motive. Much appreciation for your review Cheers Christne😀

Great words great message. Oh that our deeds were kind and reflective as well as our thoughts loving and good will toward strangers, and the final test, without expecting reward.

Very good philosophical thought. "Kill 'em with kindness" is such an important phrase. Kindness and compassion completely obliterate the hurt and suffering life can throw our way. Loved this

Hi Gladys2013. Thanks for stopping by for a read and for your lovely review for my Tanka, much apprreciated Cheer Christine😀
Comment from Heather Knight
Well, I agree with your philosophical thought. Compassion is only true when nothing is expected in return. But that's difficult to achieve.
Good luck in the competition.
