You've written not just one lovely tanka poems for this contest, but five of them, all with a chronological seasonal theme.
Great work, Debbie.
Best of luck to you in the voting.

Help. I didn't ask for it and I definitely wasn't looking for it.
But it's here.
I fired up my laptop this afternoon and went to FanStory - then selected my Messages, and there it was - a tanka.
Before I could even shout. "Oh, No." It happened.
The tanka started a monologue about flowers.
First about winter crocus and then, spring daffodils. Then it started blabbing about songbirds and butterflies.
WHEN WILL IT EVER END!
Thanks for sharing this, Debbie. JW

I think you completed the challenge of this contest very well. The Tanka style poem offer a good challenge to the writer. Making the writer chose their words carefully. Your choice of artwork and background color completed the piece.

Perfectly executed tanka suite as each one is spot on in description and also each one stands alone but together makes a perfect description of rebirth of life.
Very well done

Well done Debbie dear. Your tanka suite is well written and each stanza would be able to stand alone yet each tells us something we love when we think about spring arriving.
Well done my friend. xx Nancy

This is so beautiful, and each does stand on its own...I love the blue crocus the most. I am in no way in a hurry for spring...BUT...this brings the wonder of it to full bloom. Lovely.....blessings....

Hello Debbie;
-what a beautifully written tankas rich with the freshness of spring and the beauty of nature. They all comprise is with this attention to detail of each particular piece of spectacular enjoyment that is in nature. And they are superbly done.
-Each one has a great favorite line the brings both the first two lines in the last two lines of each tank it together as they both, the first to the last two lines of each tanka, were reached with inventive and creative imagery that is both vividly descriptive and definitively expressive. PHEW! (Another run-on sentence, huh?)
-Thanks for sharing Debbie and take care and have a good one.

I live the artwork you choose to go with your poem
you captured my attention from the first line to the last.
I love how you felt for the new year,
how children felt on a sunny bright day.
Thank you for sharing.

Debbie, Debbie, Debbie....
I so often HATE tanka suites because they are confusing and unfathomable and strange and only understood by the author him/her-self. But this is truly lovely. It puts together so many of those iconic images of spring in a way ANYONE can understand while keeping to form. Thank you!
