reminds me of an old sacrificial alter waiting for the right victim to arrive.

As I'm sure you know, Vampires in legends and myths can take on many forms, Barb. Wolves and fog, or mist, are just two of them.Bats are also popular.
Thanks so much again for reading.
I really appreciate it.

This horror haiku, Mist Envelops Her, along with the eerie graphic and background thunder, puts the cray-cray in creepy. Always a spine tingler.

Very evocative. I love the fact that you gave something like mist such volume. Splendid imagery and very Gothic in tone. I could sense the movement of the mist and feel it curl around her. Well done! Gretchen

Your haiku dances in the candlelight
Occasional glimpses of images
through the clinging mist
with exact syllables
for your fine hora haiku venture
Nicely done

Hi Dean, this is eerie and chillingly so. The atmosphere is filled with horror, which of course is the whole centre of the story. Wonderful haiku. All the best. Ulla:))

Chilling. The photo with the image from the haiku gives a physical sense of not quite cold. but, an uncomfortable and unnatural chill in the mist. Well done.
