Yes, but New Orleans before the rain, not so much. Your poem does however bring back memories of Pensacola and the magnificent magnolias.

Well Tom I was in Pensacola only once in the Navy. Carolina is where I first found the pleasant scent...apparently she gets around. -smile-...much obliged....love Michael

Oooh--something different--pictures of captivating magnolia blossoms! I admired your appealing to our sense of smell and sound plus your "seed" metaphor. Thank you for sharing the Shakespeare references and "sweet...memories". Big hugs- Joan

Hey life is one grand sweet song, so start the music. Your words are expressive and the arrangement with the artwork is all right. Thanks for sharing this piece.

Wishing you all the best...

I love the scent of magnolias. Have you ever thought how sad for those that don't know this wonderful flower of the south. I don't know they have them up north, but for sure the south bursts forth the smell of the magnolia trees in the spring. Enjoyed the words and the read.

Yes, I can certainly agree with New Orleans after it rains, Have you been to Hawaii, and smelled the air after a rain, like fresh water. You've made Magnolia into a feeling that is understood my all in different way. Great.

Ophelia is a beautiful name that has long been hampered by the stigma of Hamlet's tragic heroine--for whom he seems to have invented the name. There is a gutsy Ophelia in Harriet Beecher Stowe's 1852 Uncle Tom's Cabin, which seems to have have had some influence on the naming of babies at the time.

Selfish Man-Womb To Tomb! - a Poem by Ambrosia Ambrosia

The other day, while teaching,
Suddenly took a pause to reflect.
'Fetus in the womb, seldom suffers from hypoxia,
Although carrying mother is hypoxic'.
The same fetus grows and matures
To become... child...... adult.....old man.
Throughout ............womb to tomb;
Accumulates..........to make sure,
He should never suffer any shortfalls,
Though anyone may and at any cost.
Selfishness, wired in human genes!

Oh, Michael, michael...SUPERB...oh what joy to read. You found the thread, held on to it, procured it and delivered, my friend with all the expertise of a botanist and chemist.

If I tell you, I was hoping and praying you carried this off to the end, and you did, and I was joyful, more so than my own writing, for this is the balance that you need between cryptic and direction. This is how I want you to write, my brother, let none now criticize, for this is poetry.
So glad to give you my six and support.

Marvelous write.

''New Orleans right after it rains
everything clean
heaven sent...sweet ''

How poetic is that? A new start.

Wonderful

My best wishes...now go and win your first poem of the month, for you deserve.

Beautiful poem and video. I like how the first and last stanzas wrap up the whole thing nicely.
Good choice of words, my favorite phrase is Shakesperian poetic ambrosia.

Nothing to surpass the beauty and the scent of the lovely magnolia! My stepmother planted one in her yard in WVA...it seems to be thriving. I like how you've entwined lovely New Orleans into this...as enchanting as Spanish moss....blessings....
