Last year I had a heart attack. Nothing serious, Congestive Heart Failure. A friend brought me his chain saw to trim the trees that had taken over my side yard. Thinking back I don't know if he was trying to help me or put me back in the hospital.

Nothing serious...congestive heart failure!! Thomas, Thomas, Thomas! I read this twice, first time thinking the friend came over and took care of the overgrowth while you recovered, but no, he just brought you his chain saw to do it as you recovered...some friend!! I like your sense of humor! Thank you for the RR&R, much appreciated! I hope your heart has mended to perfection!

Drat! I am out of 6's so you'll have to settle for a meager 5. Your humor is superb and I agree with you. I am not familiar with the laws in Arizona, but having an out dated license is not illegal unless you are driving. I guess it is different there. You did a great job with this and had me laughing from beginning to end. Keep up the great work.

Funny stuff, but maybe not to you ... but it will be in ten years. I don't think you did anything wrong. Not according to the laws where I live. A homeowner may trim any growth that crosses the property line. Had I been in your position, I would have searched the web for how to kill the offending tree and tried that first. The first thing that comes to mind is bags of rock salt poured into slits at the drip line, which partially is on YOUR side, so you could just have it die a "natural" death from "unknown causes" ... but the salt would have destroyed your flowers too. We have to sacrifice sometimes. LOL!

Good morning Phyllis :) We are fine to trim what's on our side, but we are then responsible to get rid of it, which is where my disorderly conduct charge comes into play. It seems ridiculous to me. We get one bulk pickup per year and that isn't until April...that would mean loading it and taking it to the dump, miles away and $20 to discard his overgrowth!! Spittin' mad still.

Thank you for the wonderful review and for the fabulous six! I very much loved seeing that so it made the experience all that better :) I've not heard of the salt...in AZ people pour that stuff on their palm trees to keep them healthy. With my luck, it would have the result on the damn dirty weed! Thank you again, Phyllis!

Salt for health? Tell that to my doctor. LOL! I have to restrict my intake. I miss it. :)

I know, right? Fixes chlorosis in palm trees and greens them up!

I think I would have sued him for lack of sunlight, and damages to you plant life. That works in England, especially as he moved in after you. I think that was awful, You are allowed to cut anything that hangs over from a neighbours garden here. That policeman was obviously biased. I would have asked for his name and number and reported him for rudeness. Put a piece in the paper, report it to the radio! What a cheek that neighbour had. You poor thing! I think you would have to laugh if it wasn't so awful. You certainly can write a good post, now write it and put it in the papers. :) xxx Sandra

Haha, I will have to consider that angle of a countersuit! "What a cheek"...you Brit's have the best expressions ever! A Brit friend of mine commented when I was telling of my popo encounter that I "should never use wanker and bush in the same sentence...it just isn't right!" LOL! Thank you for the excellent review and rating, Sandra! Have an awesome day!

I think you made the right call with humor! You had me chuckling the whole way through. This is one of those things that may not be funny at the time, but is later. I love all the references you throw in - Edward Scissorhands, Edwina, tree lives matter, Armageddon, OJ Simpson, and on. I think you are right, the note might have been the over the top kick in the pants. Enjoyed reading this! Sorry, though, about the run-in with the po po.

Hi Melissa! Thank you for a wonderful review and fabulous SIX! Made my late night writing all the worthwhile ☺ I may have to do a part two describing my "Edward's" reaction when he heard about the note. M'wa was definitely in the dog house for a bit! Thank you for your continued follow; so very appreciated!

mis-de-mean-or, you should be totally ashamed of yourself for your anger, your note to the unkindly neighbor and your sassiness to the po-po.
All kidding aside, I found your story delightful. Patricia

Aren't neighbors fun? That's why I moved and live on seven acres. haha
I'd give you a six if I had one for the excellent post.

Do you really have charges filed against you? Do you have to go to court?
Things sounded like they were pretty bad for a mere 'trimming' of what was on your own property. As long as you didn't infringe on his side, at least here in FL, you had a perfect right to trim what was on your property.

Keep us posted if the saga continues. Curious readers want to know.

Good morning, Ellen! Thank you for your review and rating, so appreciated! I envy your six acres already! I just don't understand how some overlook common courtesy so easily. I suspect the cop was a friend of his. Im told that the city attorney will likely throw the case out, so I'm not too concerned. Damn wanker! Have an awesome day and thank you again! I'll keep your inquiring mind posted hahaha

.... and extremely humorous it was, too. Well done on a delightful read,
We obviously share similar senses of humour as well as a love of language and a good sense of comic timing, dialogue etc.
Thoroughly good read, oh master criminal! I am beginning to look forward to my sixties...

Good morning, Hayley! It had been an eventful week! What a lovely review I can thank you for, and the first to arrive in the wee hours here and all the way from New Zealand! Made me so happy to read your reaction. Thank you so much for the extra spring in my step today:)

Great. There is nothing I like more than putting a spring into someone's step. (Unless it is a bounce!!!) Enjoy your weekend!
