My compliments on your pleasant, believable and well-written poem. Excellent imagery makes this reader feel almost like an interloper.

Summer is not my favorite season. Find spring or fall with the change of season to be more enjoyable, but your poem has made me the a second look.

Lovely free verse poem.
I was reminded of the ticking clock today as I was talking to my oldest grandson will be 22 next week. How can that be I thought...he is getting older.... but I am not. haha

I enjoyed the beautiful imagery with the sounds of summer.

Very nicely done.

OMG...isn't it true?...
Time for self coming only
as others sleep...I often stayed up til almost dawn to have this silent time.
Good poem...nice lines and color....

A very nice poem about the ticking of the clock. Wanting sleep, but fighting it. Very well done in verse and style of poem. I liked it.

I love the imagery in your lovely free verse.
Each descriptive detail lets the reader, see, hear
and feel what you are feeling.
I love how you fight to stay awake to enjoy
just lying next to your love and enjoying
the peace.

A very well-written poem. To watch someone you love sleeping peacefully is a treat. When it is a baby, you enjoy a welcome break from their demanding needs.

Isn't that the truth....that ticking never stops, and it all goes by too soon, too soon. Summer, the warmth, the breeze through the window, all soon to be buried in the drifts of winter...beautiful...blessings....
