Excellent rhyme and meter making the flow so easy to read.
Love the story you put with the piece and I feel anyone who can play those two instruments especially, knows the meaning of life and love of music.

Excellent and a very favorite among all of these. Well rhymed and phrased and such a soothing and sweet message that it does this special picture more than justice. Superb.

Thank you so very much, JoAnne. But, I have just read yours. My word, it was a brilliant read, and I just wished I could have matched the star rating. You have a talent, my friend, carry on writing lyrics and try selling them to a vocalist. Thank you for what you've said about mine, that was so sweet of you, and a really big hug for the 6 stars. :) Sandra xxx

This is indeed beautiful my sweet friend.
I am one who has music in the soul. I always loved the Big Band era and then my next favorite time was the seventies.
You did a good job of capturing the essence of the picture. Well done. Nancy

Likewise, my mum loved the Big Bands, and really it was down to her that I did too. It was a shame when records took over and the bands dried up. They just couldn't afford to pay the musicians enough to live. Thank you, dear for the lovely review. I can well imagine you have music in your soul, you are a true poet, so you had to have. Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xsx

Written like a true maven of the minstrel.
There is nothing like live music.
Un-synthesized, un-homogenized.
From the gut.

I've known many of these fellows.
I was a bad imitation of these for several years.
I like all your 'divine' references. Because that's what these guys
sound like to me.
Keep your celestial choirs. Give me a raspy voice and a rough strum.
I'm singin' along.

Peace, Lee

Hi, Lee. How are you? I love the idea of me being a 'maven' of music, of course I'm one. I listen to all sorts of live music, there is no other kind to stir you up. I also agree with you, I love the raspy voice, it has more depth and life in it than any recorded edited, and fluffed up voice. Thank you, for your lovely review, and a big hug (special) and even sloppier kiss for the 6 stars! :) Sandra xxxx

I like this picture a lot. Reminds of my youth when we had an old guy that could play several instruments. Great time listening to him play and sing. This is a great poem with it's poignant meanings.

Have a great day my friend and love you! xxx

I just love the sixes in your heart, Christine, they are worth so much more than the real ones. Thank you so much for this really nice review. I've read quite a few already but still have some more to read. I'm off to do that now. Thanks again, my friend. xsx Sandra x

You captured not only my attention but the meaning of the picture
Your words are so true
For there are times I hear music when the cool breeze blow or the crackle of the dry leaves at fall
Yes music is always around us.
Thank you for sharing.

This is a lovely take on the picture. It is such a pleasure to someone wh is always on the button as far as meter is concerned and this once again is in your favourite, theuiambic heptameter. A great response to the picture.

Aww, thank you, Jim. Do you know, I hadn't realised how many heptameter poems I'd written. Do you think I'm getting too monotonous in my old age? LOL. I will have to use another style now and again. Thank you, my friend, your review was really lovely. Big hugs! Sandra xxx

It might be a good exercise to change the style butv Shakespeare wrote in pentameters most of the time.

Oh well, with that thought in mind, perhaps one day in a few hundred years time, someone will be drooling over my heptameter poetry! LOL. :) xx

Its when the exam boards start using your stuff as set books that you know you have made it.

Fat chance then!! LOL. Or perhaps we are like those artists who sold their work for millions ... after they were dead! Well, so long as we can appreciate each others work, I'm satisfied. xxx

A very well-written poem for the 'picture this' challenge. A musician reveals his soul to each one listening as each poet does reveal their souls to their readers.
