The old boy loos as if he knows his stuff. Hope you do well. I truly enjoyed. No doubt the old saying the older the fiddler, the sweeter the music. LOL. Tell Jax I said hey. My computer has been down.

Growing up in the Ozarks, I was privileged to observe many of these naturally gifted musicians. Talent in overalls to be sure. Lovely rhyme hives tribute

-Very nice poem for this picture.
-Great rhyme, meter, imagery, and story.
-In stanza one I like the quote about the angels.
-I like this line in stanza two:
"an aura of divinity, you'll feel it from afar."
-Excellent conclusion.
-Thanks for sharing.

A musical talent is a great gift to have. To be able to entertain, enchant, even. These people are so lucky and you describe the old boy to a tee.
Well written and presented. Using flair and originality, a great poem. Wish I had a six to give you.

There are all so good, aren't they, Linda, I think I've read them all, but have to check. I find it amazing how many different interpretations one picture can inspire by so many writers. I do enjoy this challenge. My parents couldn't afford piano lessons either, but my school friend had them and didn't even want to learn. Funny how we differ, isn't it? Thank you, dear friend, for your lovely review. Love to you and a big hug! And one from Ian. :) Sandra xx

By far the best entry I've read so far. This poem compliments the picture beautifully.
And your rhyme is truly delightful. This is real poetry.

I truly love a violin. It does something to my spirit, and makes my heart sing. It has a haunting tone to it.
One of my granddaughters plays the violin and the other the cello. Together they sound absolutely beautiful, but my vote goes for the violin, because it has a higher pitch it just gets me in a beautiful place.
Well done, this poem captures every bit of the beauty of this delightful instrument.

A violin played well is the nicest music you can listen to. I love to hear it played live in a theatre. Magical. Thank you so much for your lovely review, my friend. I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. :) Sandra xx

Nice job, Sandra. You picked up on all of the elements of the photo and brought them to life in a vivid poetic format. You turned this old farmer into a divine figure, quite an accomplishment.

How sweet it is when someone plays like this old fellow seems to - with such obvious pleasure for the music he's making...that, to me, is what I feel when I read your poetry, Sandra. Your joy comes through; the pure enjoyment of creating something beautiful.

Sorry it took me two days to get around to reviewing (I've been
under the weather)
This is gorgeous Sandra! It feels like you've captured the soul
of this pic perfectly.
I have seen players like him and been moved by the way he seems
to exude the very essence of music from every pore and deliberate
movement.
I loved your final stanza - especially
listen carefully to whispers in the breeze,
you might just hear the sound of music
rustling through the leaves.
:-)
