Brave kitty, Old Blackie, heh-heh. It takes some intestinal fortitude to try and take on animals that are, in likelihood, tens times larger than he is.
I agree, deer are so fascinating to observe. They are such beautiful, graceful animals, and here in my tiny farming community in southeastern Ohio, very large white tailed deer are exceedingly plentiful.
Your story is very well written, and funny, too.

I agree, deer are so fascinating to observe. They are such beautiful, graceful animals, and here in my tiny farming community in southeastern Ohio, very large white tailed deer are exceedingly plentiful.

Thank you. Blackie is a real character with more guts than brains. It's lucky we live on a dirt road with little traffic because Blackie is forever laying in the middle of the road. No danger of getting run over, he can hear the cars coming long before they get to our house. Blackie gets up and saunters off the road when he hears a car coming.

Thank you. This was an easy story to write because this just happened about two weeks ago. Blackie is a truly unique cat.

I love cats, I have one that rules this house absolutely. I can quite see that happening, lol, those poor deer, they must have wondered what Blackie was, and I'm sure they regret finding out! LOL. Lovely story, but do feel very sorry for those deer. :) Sandra

Funny story. When My wife and I moved into our new house we were the first ones in our neighborhood. We had to pay extra to have electricity brought to our house. Years later after neighbors had arrived one of them asked how the neighborhood had changed. I said, "when we first moved in deer would play in our yard in the morning. Now the neighborhood kids play in our yard.

Thank you. I enjoyed the little story you just told me. We don't have close neighbors so the deer still play in our yard. At least, when Blackie will let them.

Thank you. I have seen the deer with the other cats before and they often feed with our cattle. Blackie just has a strange sense of humor.

Thank you. Most of the time the cats and deer ignore one another. Blackie was in one of his silly moods that day and I happened to witness the whole thing. The deer weren't really scared, just startled.
