Well written piece that brought back memories of similar happenings at family events. I really like the your use of "snickered" in connection with firing peanuts. Best wishes.

Thank you. Those were fun filled days. My sister-in-law was, and still is, a real character.

A fun piece of flash non-fiction that reminded me of my food fights with siblings and students. I imagined this sweet, tasty story and saw the battle. Good use of conflict, ammo, and resolution. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you. It may not have been the right place for a food fight, but hey, I couldn't let Mary get away with it, could I?

Cute Story. Your word flow had me following the M & Ms around the room! (My husband is usually the one to start these things with the kids!) Keep writing!

Thank you. Maybe not the best place for a food fight, but I couldn't let Mary get away with shooting me, could I?

How fun, and at a wedding too! Sounds like a lunch we had last year, my brother and I started playing "football" with a piece of paper folded up into a fat triangle. You flick it at each other with your finger. When I got him right between the eyes, it was quite a victory!! So, I guess we all have these moments! Fun story :)

When I read your title, I immediately thought you were going to solve an ongoing battle my boys have. 'How did the m&m's get on the candy?' They each have their own theory. Oh my!!!! I did, however enjoy reading your fun contest entry. I wish you the best of luck.

Thank you. I think your M&M war is more interesting than mine was. Hope they get it solved soon.

What a bunch of party poopers! Why, you could have gotten the whole reception embroiled in a knock down, drag out M&M/peanut war if they would've allowed it to continue.
Just imagine how much fun that would have been. Like something straight out of film, Animal House.
"Food Fight!!!"
Yep, could'a been a good time had by all, get some of those pent-up frustrations out, ya know?
Ah, well.
To each their own...
Best wishes to you in the contest, prettybluebirds.

Thanks, my friend. Yeah, my older siblings haven't got much of a sense of humor when it comes to stuff like this. Oh well, maybe next time.

Siblings, what're you gonna do?
Ya can't live with 'em, and you can't kill 'em.
There are laws against that sort of thing in most states, you know?

Food fights can occur at any moments. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read. There is very good imagery.

Thank you. Maybe a wedding reception was not the best place for a food fight, but hey, I couldn't let Mary get away with plunking M&Ms at me could I?

Sounds like great fun can I join in? We use to have shaving cream fights. You take the spray cap off say hairspray and put it on the shaving cream can. It shoots it about 10ft. Maybe Mary would be interested in a game of slippery fun. Mary

Thank you. LOL I'm sure Mary would love your shaving cream war. I might try it myself someday.

FUN! That's what this story was. I enjoyed the imagery you created using interjections, and your word choice was simple and effective in relaying the story of a delightful moment of family fun. Mary seems to be quite a prankster. I look forward to more stories like this one.

Thank you. Mary is a real character. She is my favorite sister-in-law for that very reason.
