oh.... and a little reminiscing of the grand story-teller, Poe, comes to the forefront. Nice!
My honor students in class would have loved this adventure so far.
We did a six-story/poem unit on Poe as well.
These would be great to do a 'where is the story going next' questioning!

I love your notes and this haiku is a perfect follow-up to the last. There is something eerie about the crow and this one meets that challenge perfectly. I am enjoying these haikus and look forward to reading more.

Hi Dean,
Good sense of foreboding coming through in this one too with that satori line, as if we weren't aware of it before! LOL
This is really shaping up. Great atmosphere across the posts.
All the best

Thanks very much for following along, and for your positive feedback, Gareth.
It is appreciated, as always.
Take care...

I like the use of alliteration here. It actually hammers home the audio and the visual aspects. Good luck to you and Gypsy Blue Rose in this endeavor. Appreciate the author notes, never heard of the jisie, and I am a big fan of the Japanese forms.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read and comment on this chapter, DALLAS. Neither Gypsy nor myself knows where the next chapter is going, so that makes it as much a surprise when reading it to us as it does to everyone else.
That makes it rather exciting, too.
Take care, and I hope you will be able to continue to follow along with the story.
Thanks again.

Spontaneity is the essence of originality.

Yes, it certainly is, DALLAS...

Thank you for continuing to share your project and selecting the perfect picture to embellish your haiku. Your use of alliteration makes the work even more dramatic. Cheers- Joan

Thanks very much for deciding to read and comment on this chapter in mine and Gypsy Blue Roses' co-authored book of Gothic horror haiku, Joan.
We hope you'll continue to follow along to the story's conclusion.
Have a wonderful weekend.

No doubts--I'm hooked! Smiles- Joan

Hmm. I'm sure that I already reviewed this poem with a different image. We even had some discourse about your Jisei. Or am I going mad?

No sir, Tom, you're as sane as they come, sir.
I neglected to place this chapter in the book, and when I did, the site recognized it as a new release.
So sorry for any confusion this might have caused.
Thanks so much again,
~Dean

I thought I reviewed this already, but perhaps not. I smiled from the outset just by your title. I know I am going to have a thrilling and chilling time and I was not disappointed. I enjoyed your use of alliteration and consonance and your nod to Poe's raven. Thank you for sharing.

Mr. D, I'm loving this new endeavor. As always, the author notes set-up your pieces. I studied about the jisel in school; however, I haven't visited this type of poetry for many moons. I'm looking forward to reading this horror story as it unfolds. As usual, on your work alone, there's nothing for me to do but enjoy and fork over a six in I have one in stock. Thanks!

the crow seems like a messenger from the Grim reaper. real creepy stuff here, without a doubt. Love your word choices. Very unique. Has the power to manifest light. A real delightful presentation. "Quote the raven nevermore."

Hahaha,
thanks for the Poe nod there, Boo. I appreciate that.
Yes, Gypsy and I are having a good time putting these haiku together. We're following a story line and each haiku tells of yet another misadventure. We hope you'll be able to continue to follow along.
Thank you for catching up with this one, Boo.
I appreciate your comments and the six, my fiend.

HUM... THE HAIKU thing looks like fun. So, who is doing the next one? I may want to add one. i will read the rules first and shoot you a preview of it via e mail before I release it, so, I do not boo goo! Let me know who is doing the next one. This looks like fun.
-
I will be doing the next one, Boo.
It's just Gypsy Blue Rose and I contributing however.
Gypsy does have a book of Renku that needs contributions. It also follows along a story line.
Make sure you ask her how to go about contributing to her book.
Thanks again, Boo buddy.
Hasta la vista...

Yep, I read later was two of you. Just pondering... NOT SURE what I want to do as a weekend bandit. Just kicking the can down the road. See how far it goes. May do a review or two. Was your last haiku a traditional Japanese. You pronounce sounds instead of syllables. http://www.nahaiwrimo.com/home/why-no-5-7-5
This was educational. BOO!

All this fits together like a good puzzle. Very well done with shades of Edger Allen Poe. Thank you for sharing. It should make a interesting book. Thank you for the history also. Blessings, Barbara

Thank you very much for reading, Barbara. You're very kind.
I hope you will continue to follow along with this story written completely in haiku.
My co-author and I, Gypsy Blue Rose, have no idea where this story will lead us. We are writing this "on-the-fly", so to speak. I write a chapter, then she follows along while continuing the story line.
Thanks again for the six stars a great feedback.
I deeply appreciate it.
