Wow, what a mystery. Did he do it? Your story is tensed with chilling details of the murders committed by the killer. The reader is definitely left in suspense as to the serial killer's identity. The story flows nicely with an interesting theme. Good luck with the contest.

I apologize for the harsh language and gruesome descriptions that are a little outside my comfort zone, too. They just seemed to fit in this one to make it somewhat harder core. :-)

I'll have you know, I'm not a heavy weight tipping the scales ... well we'll leave it at tipping the scales. haha
It is a fun contest. I haven't entered one in ages. Thank God, Dean came up with this one.
I feel much the same as you do splashing with the funny-money rich and site famous. I'm the one who just belly-flopped from the high dive. haha

Clever! I didn't see that coming. Tom was insane and killed the families himself. Creepy stuff, Ric. I didn't know you could write horror. Good job, but it's not one of my favorite genres. But it's Dean's contest, so what should I expect? LOL!

I was halfway through with this piece at 1,878 words. Then realizing Dean's contest was today, I cut it down to 700 words, not including the introduction, to get it to the bare bones. And wouldn't you know it, someone said the limit was a thousand words. It was much better at 1,000, but who cares. I'm in. Thanks for taking time to read my story. Just loved this, a great entry in this contest Ric, the murders were following him around, or were they? A great plot, enigmatic ending, could he be guilty? Yes...well obviously not, framed? Probably! I could think of a few reasons why not, however. But excellent tension, the character and protagonist. Tom, even moves away to escape, ah but no escape for the fall guy. Great raconteurial skills displayed, and no spags, leaving me free to absorb the plot, well done, good luck, blessings, Roy

Somebody didn't like him to lay it all on his doorstep so neatly. Poor man he was a wreck after those phone calls I bet the police were very welcome when they came. Don't know he would get out of it though. Very well put together. Regards Mabaker.
