The story is captivating and beautiful, the rhyming is exquisite and the syllable count makes this poem flow effortlessly. This is an absolutely wonderful poem. The story is captivating and beautiful, the rhyming is exquisite and the syllable count makes this poem flow effortlessly. This is an absolutely wonderful poem. What a cool story woven throughout your poem. It is always beautiful when a family has some tradition like this. I offer you one suggestion-
if you were to remove the word 'has' in your last line, I believe it would read smoother :)

This is a lovely way of meeting the challenge of this particular contest. One garment, worn by so many, at the time of life when others' wish for a baby's success in life must surely be at its strongest has to be one of the most original reactions to this challenge.
