You're right, the moon landing did take some of the romance out of it. Though perhaps if people didn't walk around with their eyes on their phone, and their ears full of tunes...
A delightful poem, that flows nicely. My only quibble is that I feel you need a bit of a bridge between the first and second verses. The first verse strikes me as talking about how people today see (or don't see) the moon, but the next two verses suggest that the narrator still sees it in the old way. I wouldn't recommend actually starting the second verse with "but," but I feel something like that would make the change a bit less abrupt. Though perhaps you meant it to be that way?

Well, I see my own version of a face or a man in the moon, if you prefer, Poet.
Mine could hardly be said to evoke feelings of peacefulness or serenity, however.
Good work in this moon musing contest.
Good luck.

How can anyoone be the same after seeing and hearing all he sees and hears. Though he always does seems to listen.
Hope you did well in the contest.

Poet,
This is a sweet, cute, creative and melodic entry for this contest.
Nice question in the beginning, great free flowing rhymed lines
and I especially like the following lines:
" love to see your handsome face
So round and smiling up in space
Each night I share things I hold dear
And there you are, so far, yet near"
Best wishes in the contest,
Linda

I like your moon musing poem! It is really cute. Everyone knows something about the moon...it's in all our lives. So many have admired it, and enjoyed the company of it! Your poem says it all! Very well done and cute pictures!

A very well-written poem. The moon always has a magical attraction. When I go outside at night I always look at the moon when visible and are in awe each time.
