Quite excellent, my friend, with superb and inventive rhyming as well as such good rhythm it seemed like a song. I was actually sorry that it ended. I wanted to keep reading more.

Very good Bill, seems kids are thinned skinned today can't handle a little razzing from others, My kid got a suspension for calling another kid fat. I think the days of public schools is coming to an end.

Ahh the youthful years. Many express the sentiment that life in contemporary society is so much harder, particularly with the numerous forms of bullying, social media, information overload etc. I beg to differ. I think things are much too easy these days. Studying for assignments is an effortless process with the access to information at a click of a button, children no longer have to fear physical violence in the school yard as every single interaction is observed by hawk eyed teachers, education is freely available and subsidized etc. If anything, the youth have lost their resilience... I despair to think of the coming generation...
A great piece

Thinking about school days brings back many memories - some good and some not so good.
All my grandchildren (11) are home schooled. I have mixed feelings about this but with all the problems in today's school systems, I understand the parents decision to keep the children out of public school.
I enjoyed the rhyming couplets and the reminder of school days.
Well done
Blessings

So true....schools are the only places children are allowed to practice cruelty toward others in a Lord of the Flies fashion...and adults encourage it. Then the child receives the double-whammy of placement and tracking...By the time one graduates, multiple disorders exist. It is bizarre.
I liked the poem very much.

It's nice to reminisce about years that have gone by. Some things from those
years, you remember exactly what happen.
Your couplets are rhyming, your punctuation marks and capitalization you used to emphasizing were good also. The large font made it easier for people
to read.
Good luck with you poem about "School."

Very interesting take on education and mis-education of the youth of both today and yesterday as well. School for me was a place to hang out, practice looking and acting cool, trying to pick up chicks and arrange after school trysts. Almost all of which went bust anyway. Ah the good old days. I miss them, but not very much.

I liked the way you wrote this. Informative but full of poetic aura and strong sentiments. Marvellous delivery.
You brought the dynamics of such an environment to the paper.
Well done.
Have a great day.

This is an interesting take on school and those who are students and the teachers who faithfully enlighten young minds. I loved school until I got into high school, because in high school my family was falling apart and my parents divorced so there are painful memories. Patricia
