A most well told and most entertaining piece of writing and true play. This is really a great job done here and I wish I had stars of six for you. Voting first.

Gopod luck inthe contest, Lance. This is a well orchestrated script that seems real because of your timing with questioning and answering etc. I think it just might win, my friend.

I don't think that the strikes teachers do does anything other than hurt the children who aren't getting school on those days. Obviously something needs to be done and some will agree and some will disagree. I don't have children but the teachers are a huge role in the kids' lives. Some kids don't get attention at home and the parents don't teach the kids anything at home because the teachers do it all at school, yes, I know people like this. My parents taught us stuff at home as well but there are some who don't. Now we just have to figure out what the right way is to fix this and bridge the gap in between. Great job

Earned a six for daring to take a look and discuss an issue that faces all our inner city schools. I live outside D.C. and the schools in D.C. and the surrounding states, Va. and Md. face the same problem, under achievement no matter the funding. No matter how much funding, schools still are failing. Problem, the students and their family blame the system...the students and their families are not responsible for their actions or lack of.
Good article and timely,

Very interesting dramatic script. Talks about strong convictions host and talkers possess. Debate seems to get heated with people getting very defensive and placing blame. NICE SCRIPT! Good luck! liberty justice

Excellent work, and an effective bit at the end with Thomas and Jefferson ready to engage in fisticuffs. (Love the name choices.) The views expressed by Jefferson are so typical. Raising taxes has got to be the solution. He doesn't want to look at the reasons for kids failing in school. It couldn't possibly be their family situation. I'm sure every community is like mine and has numerous programs to assist kids even if the schools are allegedly failing them--tutoring, community services, etc. There's no reason a child should fail, even if the school isn't the best. More money would probably go to more administrators, etc. anyway. Excellent presentation of your views, as always. When will people learn to look at the real source of the problems? People shouldn't be blamed for escaping the cities when they become unsafe. judi

You have a way of bringing economic issues to relevance while keeping the process entertaining. That is an enormous strength as a writer.

Here are some editing things you should concern yourself with:

The three are seated behind a mahogany desk, [wouldn't that be more on a mahogany table?]

the bright futures... that are their right. We know that... um... the current way [minor point, but with the ellipses (in the US) there should be a space before and after, not just after.]

But that's too controversal to talk about, is it? [... too CONTROVERSIAL to talk ... ]

Look a Detroit, Baltimore, St. Louis, Memphis, [Look AT Detroit, Baltimore ... ]

Only a fool stays in sinking ship. [ ... fool stays in {A or THE} sinking ship ... ]

Well, You really got me here. Yes, it's about time we exposed the insane logic of the regressive left, who will point a blaming finger to others except themselves. Ha,ha, what a twisted logic. Thank you for writing something that indicates there are still Americans who value individualism and hard work. God bless.

What an absolute pleasure (?) to read. Each character is clearly defined. The tension between the protagonists progresses evenly throughout the write without ever feeling forced, or contrived. The reference to "white flight" was almost like a Shakespearean 'volta'. I was a professional actor in a past life (hence the immediate interest in your post). The great debate. Terrific, potent stuff.

Cheers - DJ
