This is just a beautiful free verse, Joe (or that is how I read it). I love the enjambment of lines, and I feel the set up is so important in this type of poetry. The breaks bring out the beauty of your words. Very nice use of alliteration, and such a touching message to your mother on her birthday. The simplicity and elegance of your words bring this piece to life. Wonerful

Yes, the picture is of my mother and brothers' only grandchild. The poem was for my mom's 87th birthday. She is very
special to all of us. I am glad you liked it.

Thank you for reviewing my poem to my mother. Yes, she is very special to me. My husband's mother died when
he was eleven so definitely knows the hurt of not having a mother. My mom has become a second mom to him. I
am sorry that you did not have that kind of relationship.
